Obama Fundraising Scandal: Follow the Money, If You Can

By Ivan Kenneally

We've come a long way from 2008 when President Obama, about to embark on his first run for the Oval office, vigorously advocated for a "robust system of public financing for elections". Now the Washington Examiner is reporting that several national media outlets are preparing to run a blockbuster story detailing Obama's potentially criminal campaign fundraising practices.

Also, the Obama campaign has apparently been working hard behind the scenes to ensure the story never sees the light of day. Sources report that a taxpayer watchdog group has recently concluded a nine month investigation into both presidential and congressional campaign fundraising practices and uncovered alarming patterns in Obama's reliance upon smaller, and therefore less transparent donations. Their research focuses on "thousands of cases of credit card solicitations and donations", many of which come from unknown sources overseas.

Suspicions of potential fundraising violations casts a pall over Obama's record setting September, which took in $150 million in donations, shattering the previous record of $114 million in August. Much of the September haul came from a large volume of small donations, and many of those via credit card. In August, Obama's campaign raised $25 million from contributions of $200 or less. In September, more than 2 million donors made donations of $25 or less.

In accordance with rules established by the Federal Election Commission, campaigns are asked to make their "best efforts" to track and report donations that fall in the $50-250 range but technically those who donate less than $200 do not need to be publicly disclosed. Campaigns are not even compelled to maintain records on those who donate under $50 at all, making these nearly impossible to transparently account for.

In 2008, there were similar issues surrounding Obama's fundraising practices since they relied so heavily on "largely untraceable prepaid credit cards that could potentially be used to evade limits on how much an individual is legally allowed to give or to mask a contributor's identity."

Despite the stridency of his advocacy for the public funding system in 2008, Obama eventually opted out of it, preparing the way for a massive capital advantage over John McCain. As a consequence, it is unlikely another presidential candidate will ever again use public funds.

One thing that does not surprise me about this revelation is that the Obamanistas have been working overtime to ensure the story never gets out. You can be assured if it does, the Insane Stream Media fifth columnists will either ignore it entirely, or do their very best to discredit the sources and protect their precious Ceasar by once again bearing false witness.

Somewhere in China, 100 Communist party members are on the internet placing $48 donations to Obama through .
They do not need to enter security codes on the donation website even though you do have to enter the security codes to buy Obama **** like signs, shirts and hats. Obama is bought and paid for by foreign governments to destroy the economy of the United States. We will see if the MSM pays attention to this scandal. My guess is 1 broadcast of news with NO follow up mention.

100 people are not needed. As long as the firewall requiring the input of the security code is turned off, I can write a small app that would make the donations automatically until the limit on the card is reached. Given half a dozen computers, I’d estimate I alone could easily make 2 – 5,000 donations an hour.

I believe that Obama’s last campaign received donations totally ~$200M in very small, no-tracking-required, donations received by credit card. Nothing wrong with that except the donation amounts were VERY suspicious … odd amounts like $22.54, $13.86, etc. No one donates money in those odd denominations. Typically they would look like $5, $10, $20, etc. The odd dontation amount would occur if the dontation were made by credit card from an overseas source and the exchange rate would drive an ODD amount. It is legal for an American citizen overseas to dontate but the liklihood that all these dontation came from American citizens living overseas is about zero chance! Looks like Obama is at it again.

You are right newrepublican. There are all kind of bots you can use, especially with firefox to keep a script going 24 hours. These bots are primarily used for on-line games, but they can also be used for something like you say.

How much came from the stimulus money sent over there? You know the 79.1 % of the $$ 1.2 Billion $$ that was supposed to be spent to stimulate our businesses over here. He sent more over there than he did here. Who got it? Who has stock in the companies? How much has been sent back to him as small donations? And last when will he be investigated, convicted, and locked up for what he is…a… fill in the blank!

Judicial Watch is investigating him, and they had to file a lawsuit, and it took months to get basic information about the costs of Michelle’s Aspen ski week-end. Quoted by Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, after Michelle’s Aspen ski weekend…. “The costs of the Obama family ski weekend are staggering. These high-priced luxury vacations, and the lack of transparency about them, are beginning to seem like an abuse of office.”

This is news? I heard about this in 2008. Why doesn’t the Romney campaign make this an issue, since the media refuses to do so?

I think Romney is taking the high road. I expect in the next debate Obama is going to bomb out to an all time low with childish attacks. I have no doubt Romney will be ready to kick him down again!

Unknown sources overseas? How about the unknown sources right here in America. For months, I received emails from Obama, from Michelle, from Biden and many members of the Obama campaign asking for a mere $5.00 campaign contribution. How many, I wonder, did these same emails wind up on the computers of the more than 12,000,000 illegal aliens in this country? In order to donate, a person has to merely check off they are a citizen of the USA and not a foreigner. If someone is in this country illegally, do you think this would stop them from making an illegal donation? I very seriously doubt it.

I get requests from as many republican politicians as I do democrat, but of course the republicans ask for 50 instead of 5. I tell them all the same thing. Anyone who is in, Im voting out, because they havent done anything their first term, so why would I expect more the next time. when are we going to wake up and realize that NONE OF THEM DO ANYTHING EVER, AND GET FREE HEALTH CARE AND A GOOD SALARY TO DO IT? WHEN??????? THEY ARE ALL WORTHLESS, and we need a complete, refreshing change.

The Obama administration is for killing innocent babies thru abortion, supports immoral lifestyles, defies the Constitution, attempts to cover up the Fast & Furious murders, gives away taxpayer money in exchange for campaign contributions, lied about governing out in the open subject to public review, etc, etc.
And now after such a pristine past, they have soiled it all with illegal funding? No, can’t be so.

when you have a chicago style thug politician losing power, this is what you see.

And if the republicans in congress had any cojones, this would have been stopped and would not be an issue at this time.

Does a loser in a campaign get to keep the remaining donation booty that was to be spent prior to the election?

Inquiring minds would like to know.

Really? The national media outlets are preparing to release this blockbuster story of illegal campaign finance. The Obama camp does not need to do anything to thwart this story from every being released because the NMO’s have and will forever be in the hip pocket of every liberal candidate.

Now were this an investigation showing that the republican candidate (be it Mitt today or whoever tomorrow) this story would have been broadcast around the world and back again.

Proof again that the NMO are nothing more than paid political activists whose power to control what information is disseminated to the populace are unequaled only to the amount of revenues paid to them by their corporate sponsors.

Clinton and Gore actually did break the law in their fundraising activities and nothing was done to them.

“Dumbo” just figures he can do it too and if anybody attacks or exposes him, he’ll just play the race card, like all corrupt negroes do.
