Romney Takes on Media as They go Nuts Covering for Obama

By GOPUSA Staff

GOP presidential candidate MItt Romney isn't backing down. Not only is he sticking to his early statement which blasted the Obama administration's "apology" to muslims in the aftermath of the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Romney also stood before the media and held a very presidential press conference. The media were in a frenzy trying to explain Obama's actions, but Romney held firm.

Yes, the main stream media are in Barack Obama's back pocket, but this is a new low. With the events unfolding rapidly in both Egypt and Libya, so-called journalists are freaking out that Romney has blasted Obama's handling of the situation.

At the heart of the matter is the fact that Obama's U.S. Embassy issued a statement essentially apologizing to the muslim protesters, because a YouTube movie was made that they find offensive. These protesters stormed onto sovereign U.S. territory, ripped down the American flag, burned it, and replaced it with a black terrorist flag. Romney denounced such actions by both the protesters and the Obama officials.

As reported by National Review, just look at the questions Romney faced in his press conference:

1. Reporter brings up that Romney had a "toughly worded statement last night," and asks, "Do you regret the tone at all given what we know now?"

2. "Do you think, though, coming so soon after the events really had unfolded over night was appropriate, to be weighing in on this as this crisis was unfolding in real time?" Follow-up: "What did the White House do wrong then, Gov. Romney, if they put out a statement saying they disagreed with it?"

3. "The world is watching. Isn't this itself a mixed signal when you criticize the administration at a time that Americans are being killed? Shouldn't politics stop for this?"

4. "Some people have said that you jumped the gun a little bit in putting that statement out last night and that you should have waited until more details were available. Do you regret having that statement come out so early before we learned about all of the things that were happening?"

5. "If you had known last night that the ambassador had died, and obviously, I'm gathering you did not know . . . if you had known that the ambassador had died, would you have issued such a strongly-issued statement?"

6. Reporter comments that Romney is running on his "economic know-how and private sector experience," and adds, "but now that foreign policy and the situation in the Middle East has been thrust into the presidential campaign, can you talk about why specifically you think you are better qualified than President Obama to handle these issues?"

7. "How specifically, Governor Romney, would a President Romney have handled this situation differently than President Obama did? You spoke out before midnight, when all the facts weren't known. How would you have handled this differently than the president did?"

Are you kidding? As noted in the report, "Only the last question even addressed what Romney would have done if he was in office. None of the questions asked Romney to give details or be more specific about what he thinks the United States should do going forward."

In a report on NewsBusters.org, MSNBC's Chuck Todd blasts Romney for his statement:

However, the deaths occurred later... during the attack in Libya. The apology to which Romney was referring was issued by Obama's Cairo Embassy. Romney was right to blast the attack. What the media fail to mention was that Obama issued a statement blasting Romney, then waited 8 hours before issuing a condemation of the attacks in Egypt and Libya. Even then, his statement still blasted "efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others." Those "efforts" are what's known as a YouTube MOVIE in this case.

Is it any wonder Romney doesn't hold more press conferences? Who needs these idiots?

Here is the full press conference:

I firmly believe Mr Romney was totally correct in his remarks and should have gone further in his denunciation of the apologetic’s of the chief abuser of the US constitution. Mr Romney spoke as an American Patriot, not an islamic apologist.

Romney has shown that he has what it takes to be a strong leader and he loves this country. Obama is weak and a despicable failure, once again apologizing to the muslims while they drag our ambassador’s body through the streets.

Amen to that! You would think with Obama’s Muslim upbringing he would understand more than most that appeasements and apologies are viewed as weakness in the middle-east. Perhaps that’s the image of America he really wants to portray to the world.

B.O. was taught at a very young age by his father and his stepfather to be true to Islamic teachings and that ANY non-believers should be killed. He only professed to be a Christian for political expedience, then only by a radical pastor as his mentor for over 20 years. Rev. Jeremiah Wright of the Trinity United Church of CHRIST officiated at B.O.’s wedding, baptized his daughters, and on September 16, 2011 said that the U.S. had brought on al Qaeda’s attacks because of it’s own terrorism. (Bombing Hiroshima, bombing Nagasaki, etc.) G-D America – your chickens are coming home to roost! Is it any wonder B.O. is constantly apologizing for our country?!? Do you think for one moment that JFK or RR would have ever been nominated, much less elected, as President of the United States of America if they had had mentors like this?!? B.O.’s actions/words this week speak loudly of where his true allegiance lies!

“denigrate the religious beliefs of others”? Hmmmmmmmm—seems to me the Obama administration and the Atheist camp have been doing a pretty good job of that with Christianity. Good point, Mr Obama—let’s not denigrate the beliefs of others—unless they are Christian.

Most all of your comments are spot on. What we need to do is elect as many Republicans as we can and then investigate the Liberal News Media for being biased, atheistic in nature, and unpatriotic, therefore endangering our country, and our way of life. They should have to stand before Congress and be held accountable for not telling the truth, and for censoring and tailoring the news to suit their private agenda. They should be severely disciplined for these outrageous acts.

It definitely was an act of war and we should retaliate NOW and bomb them out of existence. This time we are attacked and should go to war, not like Egypt Arab’s Spring, or Libya, etc. in which we should never have helped the Muslim Brotherhood. Obama should be removed as an illegal, a traitor and definitely NOT OUR president but a lickspittle to Islam!

I’m glad America is FINALLY watching the monsters. I’m sorry it has taken the deaths of thousands of innocent people to get their attention away from football and Dancing With the Stars.

I hope it’s not too late.

There’s an assinine editorial by a Robert Dreyfuss on some internet rag called TheNation.com. He blasts Romney, charging that Romney’s criticism of Obama is in effect “kowtowing” to the radical right for votes. I posted this comment to his article:
“So, it’s OK for the Obama administration to kowtow to violent killers, but not OK for anyone to call attention to it. Instead, one is accused of kowtowing to American patriots (who incidentally had ZERO to do with the events in Egypt and Libya yesterday). This is par for the course for the hypoctritical liberal spin machine.”
My comment was removed within minutes and I was blocked from further posting on TheNation.com. More evidence of the intolerance for free speech and the abysmal hypocrisy of the liberal media.
Dreyfuss also wrote some article about how he endorses the Taliban plan for peace! What an idiot!

This is something that our DOJ should take very seriously! Suppression of Free Speech is becoming a reality in this country.
Can anybody in here still say the name Eric Holder without getting really upset and angry?

There have been more than a few concerns over the past months about just how Romney would be able to deal with foreign policy issues. Those concerns were put to rest last night and today. And he demonstrated beyond all doubt that he can easily handle a hostile press. He was Presidential; the Obama administration was nothing more than a Saturday matinee episode of Laural and Hardy.(Sort of a followup on the way the Democrat convention went.)

The embassys are guarded by Marines, who normally will take no guff from anyone. (My grandson is one!) Obviously, they were under orders to stay out of the way and do noting.

The inquisitors featured in this video have absolutely no claim to call themselves journalists. They clearly had an agenda. That agenda was to do Obozo’s bidding.

As we now know, the Cairo mob was planned, it was not spontaneous. The Cairo mob was made up of members of the Muslim Brotherhood and possibly al-Qaeda. Gov. Romney’s comments were not only appropriate, they were very on the money. Obozo’s comments were another bow to Muslim extremism.

To Everett Plummer: Your ‘beginning’ to question the honesty of the press? Where have you been? I started complaining about NBC, CBS, ABC, 60 minutes, NY TIMES, …etc ad infinitum being a propaganda tool of the left 40 years ago. Goldberg wrote one of the first expose’ twenty years ago; I think its still in print…Bias by Goldberg.

Nobody can argue convincingly or reasonably that most major news media companies don’t stumpt for Obama. They do, and they and the American political left seem to accept, and seem to expect everybody else to accept, that this is how it’s supposed to be.

Then again, the US news media–at least the “main-stream media”–have become all but meaningless.

Much might be said of this. The news media industry is big business. Those working in the industry often seem to be stumping for leftist politicians who claim to stand for “the poor” and “minorities.”

But those same news-media employees are really merely doing what their big-business employers tell them to do: protecting the politicians who claim to stand for “the poor” and “minorities.”

In other words, the politicians who claim to stand for “the poor” and minorities,” and the big-business news media companies, somehow are serving each other’s interests. Big business and politians who claim to stand for “the poor” and “minorities” are, on some level, working together.

The news media companies invent the truth in which they all want us to believe: Romney is for the rich republicans, and Obama is for the poor democrats.

But the reality is far different. Obama has done as much if not more for wealthy people and for big businesses as Romney has. Obama panders to wealthy people and big business as much if not more than Romney does.

The House of Representatives controls spending and taxes, and they could cut funding to Obamacare, but they haven’t.

Obama could help poor Americans by stemming the flow of immigrants, illegal and otherwise, into the country because they’ll work for lower wages, thus making it harder for lower-class Americans to earn more, but he hasn’t.

The media keep everybody’s attention on what amount to superflous issues, like civil rights and religion. Meanwhile, the real nuts-and-bolts issues–such as how politicians enrich themselves by colluding with big business interests, and how politicians waste money serving themselves, and how much various government agencies spend–go unreported.

The bottom line is this: I’ve worked as a reporter and found out early on that my employer wanted me to write what was best for my employer, not what was best for the readers.

The bigger bottom line is that this country has some big problems–many of them hurt “the poor” about whom supposedly leftist reporters are supposedly so concerned–but everything is going the way the politicians want it to go, and the media are helping to maintain that status quo. So all is not what it seems.

The biggest bottom line is that the American people can fix things via votes if they don’t know what’s really going on, and who’s really in control, and the news media’s jobs have long been making sure that the American people know only what’s best for the politicians and for big business.

Very interesting comment on Rush this morning by a caller. Who is really to blame? The caller pointed out that the attackers were shouting ” We are a thousand bin Ladens Obama” This strongly suggests that the constant spiking of the football by the President, the DNC, Biden with his “bib Laden is dead GM is alive” bumper sticker, is the real reason for the violence and murders not the movie or Terry Jones. The rapid response the by the left to blame Governor Romney, the movie and Terry Jones is once again irrefutable evidence that the mainstream media is totally in the tank for Obama and is typical of the Administration’s total refusal to take responsibility for anything that happens that does not support his presidency or the left agenda.

It is obvious that Obama is an agent of the Nation of Islam and a traitor to the united States. How could the national Democratic Party
ever have nominated him to the office of president! I believe that the
National Democratic party is an enemy to the American people and the U.S Constitution!

You are so right John. We most definitely need to unseat BHO and install a man of God who has a conscience and who cares about us in his place. Mitt will do the job, but the Liberal News Media is trying their best to tear him apart.
