GOP Convention Highlights Growing National Debt

By GOPUSA Staff

Front and center that the GOP National Convention is not one, but two national debt clocks. These clocks which will run throughout the convention show just how out-of-control America's debt has become.

The first debt clock which was unveiled on Monday shows the total national debt as it's climbing toward $16 trillion. The second clock will show how much the national debt will increase just over the four days of the convention.

“The first clock will bring home the full magnitude of the problem, while this second clock will impress upon the nation just how much our government overspends in the span of only four days,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “Both clocks highlight the magnitude of our debt problem.”

The record-high national debt stands at $15.9 trillion, with nearly a third of this overspending the direct responsibility of this President.

“Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan understand that burdening our children with such massive debt is a loan on their future,” Priebus said. “We can do better than this, and on day one of the Romney-Ryan Administration, Mitt Romney will take immediate action to cut federal spending and bring the debt under control.”

Indeed, these are large clocks. What is the ETA of 16T? They would be real fools not to have timed this out. When it hits, it will not be Heralding in the New Year. Only a bigger fool will jump for joy at that.

From 9.5 to 16 trillion in only four years and we actually have some who want to re-elect him because he has a nice smile. A forty percent increase in the nation’s debt and some can’t see the light. Where is the voter’s sense of reality?

As our great country goes further into debt, the voters’ choice of candidates in this election resembles a high school popularity contest. Can’t EVERYONE see this administration is taking us over the fiscal cliff???
