Perhaps not all those living in Chicago share the "Chicago values" espoused by Mayor Rahm Emanuel. It turns out that some local religious leaders are fighting back against the mayor and voicing not only their displeasure with his comments but their support for REAL values.
"Do not disrespect us...We, too, are Chicago," the Rev. Charles Lyons of the Armitage Baptist Church thundered from the pulpit Sunday.
Cardinal Francis George also criticized Emanuel's stance, asking in the Catholic Chicago Blog if everyone who did not agree with Emanuel faced a similar fate.
"Must those whose personal values do not conform to those of the government of the day move from the city," George wondered. "Is the City Council going to set up a 'Council Committee on Un-Chicagoan Activities' and call those of us who are suspect to appear before it?"

When it comes to moral values Emanuel is totally bankrupt.
One man and one woman is the way all of us started. Thank God for moms and dads! Yet the reality of his momma and daddy has not yet struck the ‘politically correct’ numbskull.
He can suck up to as many of the ‘Sodomites’ as he wants BUT he will never have a child by the process; and is not marriage the right basis of bringing children into the world?

It is refreshing to see the religious leaders stand up to a man who has attacked religion from every direction.
August 2, 2012 @ 12:35 am
too bad they won’t stand up to O’Bluster the same way
August 1, 2012 @ 12:53 pm
Religious leaders, and everybody else (including the SD’s) know that ‘marriage’ only means one thing.
The SD’s just want that label applied to their cohabitation in order for them to pretend that it is a ‘normal’ lifestyle.
By calling the long-term joining of two Sexual Deviants a ‘marriage’, they hope that we will come to think of them as ‘normal’.
They have to get extra loud and extra militant in order to force us to accept their sexual deviance in much the same way we can be forced to accept convicted pedophiles in our neighborhoods.
Well, the second often doesn’t prove true, so the first should be avoidable, too.

It is clear that Rahm Emanual has anti-religious values and saying they are Chicago’s values as well is just plain ignorant.
August 1, 2012 @ 3:18 pm
Not so much ignorant as stupidly arrogant. Most of these self inflated dictators believe because they bribed their way into office they have the right to ignore the constitution. The bloviating blomberg is another that comes to mind.
August 13, 2012 @ 8:51 pm
So obviously the people of Chicago, based on their backlash to this issue, didn’t really know who they were voting for when he ran for mayor, or that he is a really good LIAR like his butt-buddy in DC.

Today instead of bringing my lunch to work as I normally do, this American went to Chick-fil-A and with my American dollars purchased an American sandwich with American taste from an American company that has American values. By the way, I was born and raised in Chicago. Take that, Mr. Mayor!
August 1, 2012 @ 2:52 pm
Yeah emanual your attention is in the right place here in Chicago, now the murder capital of the U.S. There is only one other city in western hemisphere that is more violent and deadly. per 100,000 persons and that is Caracas, Venezuela. We are 19 murders per 100,000 people.
But you worry about fast food restaurants that is very important…………………….and oh yeah YOU SUCK AT BEING MAYOR!
August 1, 2012 @ 2:53 pm
You have these people like Obozo and Emanuel who have no fear of GOD, so you get this type of action from them. I wonder what he would think today if he rode past a Chick-fil-a and saw the overwhelming support for them being shown. How Chicago voted this loser in, I don’t know. Same way Obozo was voted in, I guess.
August 1, 2012 @ 3:13 pm
I hope it gets so hot he roasts. I am so tired of having these socialist/leftists crapping on our constitution and our country to further THEIR agenda and political correctness. You want (sic) social justice go to north korea.
August 1, 2012 @ 6:01 pm
If you’re a Demo, or live in Chicago, many of you have to be embarrassed or angry, or both for this stupid mayor saying what he did.
I’m glad I’m a Rep., and don’t live in Chicago.

WHAT DID YOU EXPECT FROM AN ISRAELI CITIZEN WHOSE FATHER WAS A TERRORIST IN PALESTINE, AND WHO BLEW UP THE KING DAVID HOTEL KILLING MANY PEOPLE INCLUDING BRITISH SOLDIERS.

“The Jews, a small handful, control the movement of this great nation, like a radar controls the movement of a great ship in the waters … the Jews got a stranglehold on the Congress.”
— Louis Farrakhan, Saviour’s Day speech, Chicago, Feb. 25, 1990
These are the “Chicago values” Emmanual stands by. The retoric against gays is even worse. The remarks by Chick-fil-a are inocuous in comparison.

Let us not forget this is just a diversion. keep focused. The issue is the economy, economy and ECONOMY! That means non -union jobs as well and private sector jobs not just government employees.
August 2, 2012 @ 5:49 am
With all due respect, this is a bit of a diversion, but the real issue is FREEDOM. If we can get the government off our backs and take back our freedom, the economy will take care of itself.
August 2, 2012 @ 10:14 pm
Did you ever notice that most everyone who does/has associated with that one guy, Obama, are all scumbags of various sorts?
August 3, 2012 @ 11:29 am
Quite the colossal epiphany for these mayoral goons to assume that there liberal, politically correct agenda is shared by the masses just because their messiah has been in power for a few years. The chicken sandwich controversy is a blessing in disguise. It has exposed the fascism that it deeply rooted in the liberal agenda. Plenty of folks that voted for “Hope and Change” can clearly see the results of their mistake and hopefully make an intelligent correction.
While I favor civil unions, marriage is between a man and a woman. It is what it is. Mere mortals can’t change that.
August 3, 2012 @ 5:28 pm
“Ram-Rod” Emmanuel got his Chicago values, with his close buddy Barack, at an uptown gay club called “Man’s Country”. His vitriolic rhetoric against Chick Fil-A is consistent with all GLBT rantings against expressed mainstream Christian values. While Obama came out, Emmanuel is still in the closet.
August 5, 2012 @ 1:09 pm
chick-fila supporters-10,000+
Obama gay supporters 40.
nice base to cater to.

The Liberals infiltrated and took over the DNC years ago while the GOP let them because they were too busy playing politics. Now it is too late to do anything about it. Liberals are ungodly demons from hell itself and the dividing lines are getting closer every day. We will never convince them … JOHN 8:43-47. Let us reach others who have not totally succumbed to the evildoers yet – and pray it isn’t too long till that glorious Day. No, I am not a fanatic, I am a serious Christian – and I do stand up for biblical definitions of marriage.
