Tax the Rich... and They Leave

Rather than fixing budget problems and addressing core issues in government, one of the easy, quick-fix methods for liberals such as Barack Obama is to simply tax the so-called rich more and more. On the state level, this is leading to upper income residents simply moving out of the state. Check out what's going on in Maryland.

The study, by the anti-tax group Change Maryland, says that a net 31,000 residents left the state between 2007 and 2010, the tenure of a "millionaire's tax" pushed through by Gov. Martin O'Malley. The tax, which expired in 2010, in imposed a rate of 6.25 percent on incomes of more than $1 million a year.

The Change Maryland study found that the tax cost Maryland $1.7 billion in lost tax revenues. A county-by-county analysis by Change Maryland also found that the state's wealthiest counties also had some of the largest population outflows.

In total, Maryland has added 24 new taxes or fees in recent years, Change Maryland says. Florida, which has no income-tax, has been a large recipient of Maryland's exiled wealthy.

This so-called tax the rich will only result in the increase of unemployed. How does the simple process of thought not register with the ‘tax and spend’ liberals. Spend more and more of someone else’s money and bring down the probability of the unemployed ever getting a job.
The small business owners are a big part of the so-called ‘rich’ who Ozero says needs to pay more [their fair share]. Did it ever occur to this bumbling knothead that more taxes means less money to hire new people?
We don’t need higher taxes—-we need people with sound judgment to spend the more-than-enough revenue already collected.

The knothead is an ideologue. He is like a horse with blinders. He cannot see anything except what is in front of him. That’s was his goal from the beginning. His goal is to destroy the economy of this country AND HE WILL DO IT IF GIVEN 4 MORE YEARS, he is anti-America and anti-business. He was raised by marxists and mentored by marxists. He knows nothing else! If a lot more people that voted for this pestilence would have read his books. He could be just a faint memory now! I tried to spread the word to people I knew in 2007 and 2008 that he was a communist in demoncrat clothes and they all laughed and said I was nuts. Some even voted for him. Now the ones who remember telling me I was nuts are apologizing to me!

Raise taxes and tax revenues decline, no correlation there folks, nothing to see just move on. The idiot politicians seem to be incapable of learning from their past failures.

Many of Americans who can afford it have fled to Australia to escape Obama’s “Change.”
