According to a new CBO (Congressional Budget Office) report roughly 1 in 7 Americans are on food stamps, far exceeding any previous record.
"On average, 45 million people received SNAP benefits each month in fiscal year 2011, which represents a 70% increase over the roughly 26 million people (or one of every 11) who received benefits in 2007. Outlays for SNAP benefits (not including administrative costs) more than doubled during that period, from about $30 billion to $72 billion," the CBO report adds.
The full CBO report can be seen here.

If the GOP doesn’t use this information in their campaign against Obama and his failed policies, they deserve to get beat. Obama and friends are running around playing golf and taking exotic vacations while promising that “jobs is his top priority”. The only reason we don’t see people standing in long soup lines is because the federal government is borrowing money to give people EBT cards. Romney should mention this in every public appearance and ask if this is the hope and change we were wanting.

Gingrich was right! Obama is the food stamp president. It will only get worse until Obama is out of office.

The sad thing is I have NO faith in Romney to do the things needed to get the country back on track. There is serious pain around the corner for some…..

I’ll soon find out how that program works. I am 61 and unemployed.
I have a college degree and have worked in manufacturing as an engineer/machine programmer and other things. I am quite able bodied but there is no hiring to speak of this is not a whine but an observation. I will be just fine my finances are OK. The point is the Liar-in-Chief is destroying everything he touches. He is the “suicide bomber” of our American way of life PERIOD don’t matter whether we are talking economy, social issues,or legislation/regulation.

I wish you well. Unfortunately, thanks to Obama’s destructive policies there are way too many good people who want to work in the same situation.

I know far too many people who were “FORCED” into retirement before age 65. Evidently, the government and private industry want to get rid of people who are nearing the end of their careers and are making too much money. They prefer to hire younger, inexperienced workers who will work for less. If you won’t let people work longer, you have to offer them a way to live without working!

I was forced out a couple years ago, but I will NOT accept gubberment handouts. I’m told we qualify for food stamps, but I refuse to apply. We Americans are NOT a proud people anymore.

Food stamps for votes – the democratic/progressive/communist way.
April 20, 2012 @ 4:10 pm
This is a sad situation. Many of these people with food stamps are using to buy prime steaks and other high-end food products.
Nuts!
