If you are known by the company you keep, Barack Obama is quite a doozy. During a conference in Washington, DC, Obama's former Faith Advisor Shaun Casey told the audience, "I, frankly, am glad American civil religion is dying." From Reverend Jeremiah Wright to Casey, Obama sends a pretty clear message on the value of faith and religion.
Casey made the remarks at an event focusing on religion and the 2012 presidential election at the liberal Center for American Progress where he was a panelist along with Gabriel Salguero, president of the National Hispanic Evangelical Coalition.
"There is also a negative underside to that history with respect to slavery, manifest destiny, to war, you know, to empires, so I, frankly, am glad American civil religion is dying," Casey said. "But it does raise the practical question, what does bind us together in some way as a country?
"We need some substitute for that and I don't think we've found it yet," Casey said.

According to Alinsky, that binding factor would be the hatred of the rich and the total disregard of God and religion. That’s already been accomplished with many but not with all of the people.
However, if Casey an apostate evangelical Christian, were actually a believer, he’d have enough proof written in the Bible to know that no one is going to be able to “bind together” this entire country or the entire planet. We’re destined to remain apart right up till the very end.

Remember Alinsky dedicated his book Rules for Radicals to SATAN. If you don’t believe in God how can you believe in Satan?

That’s a good point, but according to what I got from the book, Alinsky just had a disregard for God, and actually worshiped Satan just as you said. It’s really sickening to know that anyone who read who Alinsky dedicated his book to could actually follow him.
Some say Karl Marx was an atheist and he wasn’t — he too worshiped Satan and he even composed poems to honor him. The “Pale Maiden” was just one. The scripture verse that said during the end times there will be a battle between good and evil had to be talking about the days we are living in now.

Believing in God and having a total disregard for God are completely different things. The Bible teaches that even the demons believe and tremble, but they also have a total disregard for God.

It is one thing to be a non believer or in complete ignorance say you do not believe, but when it comes to the realization of death, all will begin to fear what is next. and doubt their own beliefs. For most, at this point it is too late, as their choices in life have ignored the Savior Jesus Christ. Once the last breath is taken, their destiny cannot be changed.

We had all best be on our toes, and be watchful of what Obama is doing. As it is, we, the working middle class, are slaves to both the rich and the poor, paying taxes at a rate higher than the rich, to pay for programs to take care of the lazy poor. I though slavery had been abolished, but we working people are slaves to everyone, with little say about how our money is spent. Obama thinks he knows how to fix everything, wants control of all our government, but this is exactly how dictators get their start; thinking they know what is best for us all! That man scares the hell out of me, and he needs to be removed from office come election 2012.

God has a purpose for evil power to punish: this leads to great evangelism. Evil has to run its course when evil leaders rule a nation.

We are off topic here, but I believe you are incorrect “commonsenseneeded” in saying == “we, the working middle class, are slaves to both the rich and the poor, paying taxes at a rate higher than the rich”. We all have the same Tax Code. To say the rich pay less is incorrect. For their working income, they pay much higher taxes than say someone at $70,000. Their rate is as high (Federal Only, State not included but usually higher) as 39%. Now the way Obama and the PRESS explain it to create class warfare is “wow, they only pay 17%… You could pay at the same rate IF you/I had a great deal of money coming from investment in Corporation that employed ourselves and others like us. The tax rate on investments is only 15% if you hold the stock for a “long” time…. i.e. Stock traders, those you go in and out of a stock in say 1 week or less (as in once a second) should be the ones taxed at a MUCH higher rate to make the stock marked reflect the true value of stocks. This would reward those of use who use mutual funds and long term investments equally.
Further, accoring to IRS, if you taxed at 100% of income for all those making $10 million or more, you would only have $240 Billion dollars. Compare that to current spending near $2.7 trillion annually; real mismatch of words and CLASS WARFARE !

Although it is impossible to know someones heart when it comes to religion, Obama’s spiritual history is fraught with self promotion. He attend Rev. Wright’s church in Chicago because it was a place in the community where he could gain popularity and notiriety. Conveniently he never heard the sermons damning America. When the Rev. became too hot a topic Obama quickly dismissed him and moved on. Even his Muslim roots were mentioned when it seemed prudent and would give him a political boost. Now out of covenience he doesn’t attend a church, but has a spiritual advisor that no doubt can drum up some votes.

mcrank, the three things that define a nation are language, culture, and borders. This is why we say liberals are trying to destroy this nation since all three of these defining traits are being attacked. Congress refused to pass the “English as official language” law. The illegal invasion ignores our borders and many groups demand amnesty for all illegals, agree with them as they march in the street demanding equal rights. The illegals also insist that they retain their own culture, including their music, language, and allegiance to their former countries. Even Obama is supporting the destruction of our nation by announcing that we are no longer a Christian nation, using class warfare to turn groups of our own people against each other, pandering to the illegal aliens with promises of passing the DREAM act, and spending us so far into debt that it will never be paid off.
At this point in time, there is nothing “binding us together”. Muslims are building mosques around the nation, Christianity is being ridiculed and attacked by our own government, politicians are robbing us blind, and we can’t get enough people to come to agreement on anything to make a stand. The adage “United we stand, divided we fall” is as true today as ever, but it seems that very few people even care as long as they get their way.
