Ron Paul: Would not have ordered bin Laden kill

By The Scribe

Here's another in our series on getting to know the real Ron Paul. As you will see Ron Paul has a very liberal reaction to the killing of bin Laden.

Paul states very clearly that he prefers that terrorists be caught, imprisoned and tried in civilian court. He's very concerned for the rule of law. Too bad 3,000 people in the towers and on our planes weren't given the same consideration of rule of law before they were assassinated by Muslim terrorists.

Paul sounds like a liberal Democrat to me and a bin Laden trial in the US sounds like a circus. Just think how Al Queda would have used a civilian trial for recruitment in this country and around the world.

My sensibilities concerning bin Laden were not so tender. Snap his neck like a chicken bone and be done with it. Good job, Seals!

Actually, Ron Paul just notes that as with Libya, the WAY Obama went in was unconstitutional.  Ron Paul introduced letters of marque to do this way back in October 2001, and that would have been constitutional. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h107-3076
Much as he may not like it, Obama is not a king.

Ron Paul is on video in 2001 on the congressional floor saying we should authorize the use of Marque and Reprisal to capture or kill Bin Laden. This means that a group like Blackwater would have had Bin Laden 10 years ago. But since we have had such a disastrous policy for so long people are acting like the OBL killing justifies all the wrong actions. Remember GWB and Obama were giving Pakistan billions of our taxpayer money and they were protecting them. We should of ended that a long time ago.
Fools like this author are pretending to be super patriotic when in fact Ron Paul offered solutions that could of ended OBL 10 years ago. Thanks for being statist opportunist schills.

It’s always fun to see the Ron Paul supporters rush in to say black is white. It doesn’t really matter what the man said 10 years ago.

The fact is that bin Laden is dead and Ron Paul said yesterday that he would not have taken him out. He would have tried to capture him and bring him back to this country for a kangaroo court trial, must like Eric Holder tried to do in NYC.

Holder couldn’t get it done and Paul wouldn’t have been able to get it done either.

This video says everything I would ever need to know about Ron Paul.  He will never get my vote.

It does matter what politicians say; that is why you should investigate their track record. It is PARTICULARLY germaine to this discussion in response to the slanderous accusation & twisting of what he said; it is NOT honorable to any of our fallen heroes, in the towers or the plane, or those who are serving our country to this day to falsely accuse Dr. Paul. The FACT is that we are told Bin Laden is dead, which he COULD have been killed much sooner with less loss of life, cultural and economic cost, and that it certanly was possible to take him alive – not just for trial but then who knows WHAT we may have learned from this highly connected political figure – but at LEAST HIS BODY should have & could have been brought as proof – BRING ME HIS HEAD was for a reason. What honor was due this villain that he should be buried at sea? The whole thing stinks worse than a kettle full of ten year old fish!

the article from Scribe shows me that the author certainly has not done his or her homework. to slam Ron Paul is a cheap shot in my opinion, but beyond that the article shows and gives the impression they are controlled by the same Zionist controlled media as the AP or Reuters. For goodness sakes people do your homework before you buy into every lie perpetrated on the American people. Osama has been dead since December of 2001. And despite what the media or your corporate goverment tells you they CANT PROVE otherwidse. Are they willing to sign affidavits signed under penaty of perjuery that Navy Seals killed Osama? Are the Navy seals who purportadly killed Osama willing to sign affidavits under penalty of perjury? NOT LIKELY…. hmmmm wonder why? Turn off your television and do your own homework… might i suggest Infowars.com?

The mainstream media is as anti-Israel as is Ron Paul and his supporters. They are definitely not controlled by Israel, maybe Hamas.

Not a very good try but it’s hard when you have to pretend your hero didn’t say what he said in the video.

Mr. Paul has apparently gone over the edge.  The wacky, crazed persona known as “Ron Paul” was first created by Don Knotts and his over-the-top crazed persona, “Barney Fife”.  Wild-eyed, crazy rants seems to fit Mr. Paul like a glove.  Even if I believed in this man, I would know I was wrong.  Mr. Paul would do conservatives and the GOP a huge favor by stepping away from the podium and encouraging his misguided and befuddled supporters to support a candidate that actually has a chance to win.

You can always spot a statist schill by the way they throw out terms like crazed or wacky even though Ron Paul has been 100% correct on predicting the economic and foreign policy issues we face today.

But they have all this anger against a man who has had no real influence on legislation as if it was his fault we are in the mess we are in now.

Hopefully more people will leave that unwashed masses mentality for this next presidential election.

Ron Paul is a joke in terms of his presidential aspirations. I live in Dallas and travel all over Texas, and I assure you most of us here just roll our eyes when his name is mentioned in the same breath as the presidency and wonder how he keeps getting elected to the House. The only assumption is that apparently there are quite a few hardcore Libertarians and Secessionists in his district. Notwithstanding his position on eliminating the Fed, he’s far more Liberal than Conservative and his thoughts on pulling the plug on our military are totally in line with the great thinkers at UC Berkeley.

The problem with most, if not all, Libertarians is that they hold few, if any, moral values.  they may ally with conservatives but they are not conservatives.  On top of that, they’re isolationists with some utopian belief that if we simply ignore the rest of the world, it will ignor us.  What nonsense!

Other than wanting a strong economy and making some sense in that area, Libertarians hold no solutions to a host of other problems and share little in common with conservatives.

If so, it is probably due to Dr. Paul’s INTEGRITY & MORALS & ETHICS, being above reproach that disinofrmation speicalists of republicrat SHEEP are baying about his standing by his interpretations of political DUTY, despite so much corruption.  & Dr. Ron Paul is HARDLY IGNORING the world, politically or personally.

I think there are few of those posting here who can claim to have higher “morals” than Dr. Paul.  Married to the same woman for 52 years (no sex scandals here folks).  A strong familyman and life long member of the Baptist church.  Because he believes that morals cannot be legislated (hint: they can’t) people claim he is immoral.  Dr. Paul does not condone drug use or abortion (as a Dr. who has delivered over 4000 babies he is one who believes life begins at consecption) but he realizes that such things need to be treated as an illness not as a crime.
Post your moral standing here if you claim that Dr. Paul has no morals.  How many wifes have you had?  Ever had a little on the side?  Maybe you like to stop at the strip club?  Dr. Paul would not restrict any of this behavior as it is just as immoral to use the violence of the state to try to restrict bad behavior as it is to condone bad behavior.

RON PAUL) does not garner RESPECT for his moral integrity and ethics, when he proves by ACTION his sincere beliefs, and also upholds the individuals rights and freedoms within the law as provided by the constitution not to legislate and police moral behaviours, and to protect our individual rights, and make this country a stronger economic & morally stronger (for it is immoral to enforce arbitrary constraints, that is WHY we have the judicial branch to interpret the laws within cthe constitution)? He was a CIA operative hired by the CIA back in the 80s to defeat the Russians in Afghanistan. Do your homework… Bin Laden by his own admission had nothing to do with 911. you seem to have fallen prey to the spin doctors to sway your opinion against Muslims. dont you find it “convenient” that they didn’t produce the body, any DNA evidence or an independent doctors analysis of the cause of death etc etc etc. AND THEN tell us they dumped the body in the ocean…? This last stand of Paul’s is truly pathetic.  Circus trials of terrorists simply do not resonate with the American people. No one with any sense would put America through that. To hell with the rule of law. We were attacked on our shores by a terrorist. Sane people don’t set up a circus trial for that terrorist in NYC. They fry the SOB and save themselves the expense and misery connected with a trial.

Geez, even pantywaist Obama didn’t stop the Seals from executing the kill. Most Americans are happy to see bin Laden dead, and yes, he is dead. I was doubtful at first because it was Obama but enough conservatives have now seen the pictures that I will take their word for it.

I know Paul is announcing this week but he’s already done. Being for limited spending and limited government simply isn’t enough to get you elected when you’re also pro-legalization of hard drugs, anti-Israel, and against killing bin Laden in the field. It simply won’t fly.

Here’s a hint for the tin foil hat crowd -  you don’t win converts by trying to be the craziest person in the room. As for the delusion some have that bin Laden has been dead since Dec. ’01 – Really? Why would Bush have hidden such a fact? Keeping it secret only undermined him.
So bin Laden had nothing to do with 9/11? Back in 2004 he said he did, do you know more than bin Laden himself? Keep it up, you guys are better than Cheech and Chong!

I’m sure SOME think that 911 was an inside job (and to some degree we are responsible for Bin Laden being where he was (in leadership of the terrorists) we did prop him up. If the crazys aline themselves with the rule of law embodied by the Constitution enough said, by all means continue to march in lockstep with the others who fear being responsible for themselves and find it repulsive to ask the Government to coddle us cradle to grave. Brad,
If you cannot observe the comments above and determine who is equating Paul with the messiah I cannot educate you; the lack is in you, not my comment. As for Christ, I will not try to speak for him, I lack the hubris to attempt such a profane thing.
Just because someone aligns themselves with the Constitution does not, in and of itself, mean they are correct in all their positions. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut in the forest once in awhile.
If anyone is marching in lockstep with anyone it is the Paul supporters who respond to the mildest of criticism by attacking those who dare speak it. You obviously lack the perspective to understand that simple fact.

nevadasteve.. i have the utmost respect for your thoughts and as a conservative constitutionalists will defend your right to free speech and yet i must point out that Clinton and Albright were given an opportunity to extradite Bin Laden and declined. not once but i believe twice. WHY? Why was Bin Laden being treated in a Dubai US military Hospital in July of 2001 for Kidney failure and CIA paid him a visit then… keep in mind this is AFTER he bombed the USS Cole.HMMMM have you fallen prey to what your Zionist mainstream media has told you about Bin Laden?  RU not aware the military (and even professional AV folks)  have the technology to manipulate voice patterns to replicate that of ANYONE if they have an original voice print? Are you not aware that our beloved GWB and many before him are nothing but puppets for the real POWER behind the scenes? See comments below of reputable INDEPENDENT comments made regarding Bin Ladens Demise. Even Rumsfeld said when he was dead LONG before some alleged Navy Seal team purportedly killed Bin Laden. i have gotten over it… i have been lied to for years… i do my own research and DONT trust what mainstream media tells me.
Is Osama bin Laden really dead? I don’t think there is any question
about it. In fact, bin Laden has been dead for several years. If
readers will recall, this is the latest of several announcements by
various government spokesmen that Osama bin Laden left the land of the
living. As respected researcher Joel Skousen notes in his latest World
Affairs Brief, no less than 9 public announcements of bin Laden’s
demise have been made spanning the years 2001-2009.

For example, on January 18, 2002, the Pakistani President declared,
“I think now, frankly, he  is dead.”

In October 2002, Afghan President Hamid Karzai told CNN, “I would
come to believe that  probably is dead.”

In November of 2005, Senator Harry Reid revealed that he was told
Osama may have died in October of that year.

In September of 2006, French intelligence leaked a report suggesting
      Osama had died in Pakistan.

In March of 2009, noted military and intelligence analyst Angelo
Codevilla stated, “All the evidence suggests Elvis Presley is more
alive today than Osama bin Laden.”

And in May of 2009, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari said,
“I’ve said before that he (Bin Laden) I don’t think he’s
alive.” He also said the head of US intelligence told him they [the
US] hadn’t heard from Osama bin Laden in 7 years so they presumed
      him dead.”

Ron Paul seems to one of the FEW who have not sold out to the globalist Banksters who will push this country to annihilation.  kind regards

      Paulzaccardi,
I only view the mainstream media to see what they are up to, not as an authoritative source for information. As for your contention that they are Zionist; you obviously have a unique view of the world. After U.S. forces invaded Iraq CNN revealed that they had slanted their Iraq coverage to hide Saddam Hussein’s atrocities. They had Palestinian reporters covering actions in Israel who would use “we and our” to describe the terrorists attacking Israel (and they would describe Israelis as they and their) in reports. The MSM use the phrase “occupied territory” to describe land that is legally “disputed territory”. If anything the mainstream media is anti-Semitic.
As for Clinton refusing to go after bin Laden – What has that to do with anything? It is of no relevance to anything. And all your references about announcements of bin Laden’s death, did you notice any similarity? They all were worded as probabilities, not certainties. If you care to take them as proof of his death you are free to do so but don’t try to push that line on me, I require more than someone’s feelings to decide matters of fact.
I am fiercely independent and I think for myself. Not only do I not toe any party line, I don’t put any politician on a pedestal and accept their leadership without question. If someone wants my vote they must agree with me, I won’t bend to agree with them.

congratulations NevadaSteve. i am proud to call you a thinking American. i agree we should not trust ones “feelings” any more than i trust the lies told by this administration and most of them dating back about 100 years. show me the body of Bin Laden. Show me a sworn affidavit by a medical examiner or coroner or even a Navy Seal for that matter who is willing to put their future at risk by signing under penalty of perjury….aint gonna happen. just like Bush and Cheney refused to swear under oath when they testified before the 911 (joke) commission. Hmmm wonder why they were unwilling to swear under oath? they know the consequences of lying under oath. the “government is our enemy… it would appear those that control our government ARE. google the committee of 300. this should tell you whose running the world and who controls BOTH parties. peace brother pz

Seems Mr Paul upsets people on the Right and the Left which is a big plus in my book.  While the far left wants to give all the drug addicts free healthcare and welfare checks the far right wants to lock them all up.  Either position is helping to bankrupt the country.  His ideas on this are far superior to either conservative or liberal ideas as are many of his ideas.  Right or Left the men in Washington now are all about pilaging the the hard earned income of those who still will work, the only diference is how they split up the spoils, with massive amounts going to the mainstream media for campaign commercials, which is why we never really hear the truth about anything anymore.

seems we have someone else on this forum who is thinking for themselves without falling prey like a lamb led to the slaughter to the propaganda foisted on the American people by the Zionist mainstream media.
congratulations Badger… and while we have never met, i am proud to call you a friend

I am with Ron Paul here, respect for other nations is key. Obama, as usual, did not handle this properly.
