I do believe Arizona Corporation Commissioner Gary Pierce must have played a few hands of poker in his time.

    From the Washington Times...

In a letter to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Arizona Corporation Commissioner Gary Pierce said a boycott war is bad for both sides, and said he would "be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements" to end the electricity flowing to Los Angeles.

"I am confident that Arizona's utilities would be happy to take those electrons off your hands," Mr. Pierce said. "If, however, you find that the City Council lacks the strength of its convictions to turn off the lights in Los Angeles and boycott Arizona power, please reconsider the wisdom of attempting to harm Arizona's economy."

    Arizonans are tough as nails.

Makes you wonder how they ever elected McCain, doesn't it?

Calif is sucking from ALL of America, time to tell them whats what !!! WE THE PEOPLE support Arizona !

Hey I'm from So Cal and say Boycott L.A. and cut their power or double the price!

I live in California and this state is really screwed up and these latest Arizona boycotts are just obvious examples of how the politicians in this state think which show how they cannot get past their personal and liberal biases.

This state is going bankrupt, its infrastructure is falling apart, its tax structure is the highest in the country, it has more sanctuary cities for illegals then any state, and it has been run by liberals for years.

LA and San Francisco are prime examples of large metropolitan areas run by liberals and unions that are sliding down as we speak, and they just are in denial big time. However, the people out here just keep electing these inept politicians that just keep making matters worse. It is a form of insanity.

Why else would anyone, let alone LA, San Francisco, etc. even think to boycott Arizona? They are idiots. The Arizona law is just a simplified version of the federal immigration law that is not being followed and the liberals have gotten everyone all fired up about it. It is another naive, stupid thing, except for one reason: The liberals want an open border with Mexico and do not want anything done about the illegals coming in from Mexico and latin America. They like having the support of the hispanic minority voting base in California that allows them to continue in power to continue to ruin this State. The Hispanics and Asian minorities coupled with the Hollywood weirdos just keep voting in their liberal friends, and the California slide from exceptionalism continues.

Pelosi and Boxer are prime examples of the great politicians from California...aren't we lucky out here?

Perhaps the Arizona Corporation Commissioner can find it in his heart to send Los Angeles some candles made by illegal aliens.

Gary Pierce you took the words right out of my mouth! Thanks for standing up to those idiots in California. You GO ARIZONA......The majority of the USA 75% is with you!!!

Even though I live in L.A., I say GO ARIZONA! I so believe in what Arizona's doing, that I'm willing to suck it up however I can rather than have them back down to the likes of these creeps on the city council.

And Arizona...don't forget to send the illegals you are housing in your jails for California back to California...I'm sure SF or LA has plenty of food to feed and house these convicts...

We're with you AZ here in North Carolina....

I called Mr. pierce and congratulated him for this document, we have elected officials in los Angeles that are incompetent to run a city, have a huge deficit and not solving it , but have time to pas decision to interfer in decision of another state.

BRAVO ARIZONA

Once again another case of liberals ruining this country. The only reasons they are opposed to the Arizona law is the fact that they want the hispanic vote. These boycotts are absolutely ridiculous!

Here is the CA hypocritical law. Put 'em in the dark.

a) Every law enforcement agency in California shall fully cooperate with the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service regarding any person who is arrested if he or she is suspected of being present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws.
(b) With respect to any such person who is arrested, and suspected of being present in the United States in violation of federal
immigration laws, every law enforcement agency shall do the following:
(1) Attempt to verify the legal status of such person as a citizen of the United States, an alien lawfully admitted as a permanent resident, an alien lawfully admitted for a temporary period of time or as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of immigration laws. The verification process may include, but shall not be limited to, questioning the person regarding his or her date and place of birth, and entry into the United States, and demanding
documentation to indicate his or her legal status.
(2) Notify the person of his or her apparent status as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws and inform him or her that, apart from any criminal justice proceedings, he or she must either obtain legal status or leave the United States.
(3) Notify the Attorney General of California and the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service of the apparent illegal status and provide any additional information that may be requested by any other public entity.
(c) Any legislative, administrative, or other action by a city, county, or other legally authorized local governmental entity with
jurisdictional boundaries, or by a law enforcement agency, to prevent
or limit the cooperation required by subdivision (a) is expressly prohibited.

TO THE PEOPLE OF ARIZONA. HANG IN THERE!!DON'T STOP AT ELECTRICITY, TURN OFF THE WATER THAT RUNS THRU YOUR STATE TO THE KOOKS IN CALIFORNIA. HAVE A SHUT DOWN OF THE CANALS, CHECKING FOR ILLEGALS.

Commisioner Gary Pierce and Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona are the type of people we need on our team. It's people like them that will help us win our country back from the liberal socialistic slide. I am so glad to see people like them step up showing character and a set of stones to do what is right inside of hiding and whimpering.

Hi...
I just wanted to say that I live in the L.A. area and you have to know that the citizens of this city did not approve of this measure by the city council. In fact, a boatload of us sent letters, faxes, etc to the Council expressing our outrage.

Like Arizona, we have serious illegal immigration problems in California and especially in the L.A. area. And the politicians in the city and the state pretend as though they have some moral high ground from which to pontificate. The act was just a gesture of political pandering, which the Mayor apparently doesn't realize is only for his benefit. The people of L.A. are fed up with this mayor and the direction things are going in.

I can assure you that most Californians stand with Arizona. I know I do.

Annie

I have a house in Arizona although most of my time is spent in Missouri. We are thrilled with Jan Brewer and when we are in Arizona in the winter many times we head for California for a few days. NO MORE. We were going to visit Disney land in January NO MORE. We love sheriff Joe and we need to get our country back one state at a time and if the first state to reclaim our country is Arizona then more power to them and way to go. We will be spending all of our time in Arizona this winter and would not dream of crossing the state line into California.

Here in the Seattle area we are having serious problem due to an amatuer Videographer obtaining a tape of a Police investigation after a Robbery. The full story has not come out as to what precipitated the event.
What was taped, just a 45 second clip of one cop using racial epitaphs, and apparently kicking the Hispanic person on the ground, and another stomping his leg. Which I do not condone, it looks brutal.
Having seen and heard some of the verbal abuse the police put up with, I suspect there is more to what occurred than we are being presented on Channel 7, who are so proud to have the exclusive they show it at least 4-5 times every evening.
In the past year we have lost numerous Police officers to violence. Most of the arrests are hispanic, Black or other non-white ethnic groups. Gangs roam the streets, selling drugs and doing drive by shootings of innocent people. Mostly from Ethnic Groups other than white. Our Policemen are under attack every time they put on the uniform, and now they are under attack from the very people they serve.
This has been going on in Pheonix for years. It's about time all of the government we put in place to "Protect and Serve" starts doing their job.

It's about time Az answered all these ridiclous boycotts. GO FOR IT AZ. Trust me most of AMERICA is behind you. SHUT EM DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!! Let all these idiots hang on their very words. Better yet charge hollywood triple to carry their assinine views. Get arnold, boxer, fienstein and all the other idiots from that failed state PUT UP OR SHUT UP. Hey you big bucks people CARRY THE LOAD. Brunner has guts and these big mouth unions and libs can all GO DIRECTLY TO HELL.

What you have in California is a curtain call. The last act is over, the show is closing and since it isn't all that good, you have to do something to be remembered.

What all the protests are about is NOT the law, it is the ENFORCEMENT of the law. When the national speed limit was 55 mph, nobody cared until it was enforced. Then something was done about it. The same is true for the Arizona law.

Note that most of (if not all) the protesters have not even READ the law. Including the AG and Homeland Security.

Good for AZ! Let the liberal P'sOS swelter in the dark!

Way To Go Arizona !!! Now if you vote Mc Cain out I think you will really be on the way to taking your state back from the Illegal's and a senate RINO who has backed the illegal aliens over his own constituent's, and his country repeatedly, and for many years.

Way to go Arizona; screw you California!

Way to go Arizona; screw you California!

To the people of Arizona. Stand your ground. Every person I have talked with here in Kentucky support what you are doing. I had planned on a 3 week vacation with my wife going to Las Vegas for a few days then out to Calif. for the rest of the time. That is now OUT. WILL NOT VISIT CALIF. We will instead visit Arizona for the 17 or 18 other days. The few friends I have that live in Calif. hate what is happening to their State and at least one couple are talking about moving out. So to your Govenor stand tall and proud you are doing right. And thank you for being tough enough to do it.

It might not hurt to send him a message of support at
Pierce-web@azcc.gov

I'm sure he's getting slammed by the Left without mercy.

I'm all for it, I wish Florida would get on board and love all the good words for Arizona.

Maybe we need to put and fence around Calf and just give it to mexico as long as they take all the illegals there

Now that's a man lol.

Fr: Handymanherb-->Maybe we need to put and fence around Calf and just give it to mexico as long as they take all the illegals there

OH YES!! What a great solution to all of our problems! Make sure Holly-weird can't escape!

Apparently as Zeke has pointed out, the only difference between the AZ law (which I have read, unlike some members of the FEDERAL government) and the CA law (http://law.onecle.com/california/penal/834b.html) is that AZ WILL enforce the law while CA won't. I don't think AZ will have much of a problem selling electricity to other States (NV & NM come to mind) so I think they should take CA at its word, stop sending them 'power' and never again sell it to them. (After which, I think AZ will have more than just a few Southern CA-types moving into their state.)

Hey Governor Brewer! What's your problem? Chasing away all the illegal aliens, reducing welfare roles, reducing crime, providing jobs for honest citizens, making obama look bad? What do you think you're doing? Trying to run for President next election?
Well, now that I think about it, maybe that's not a really bad idea after all.
She has my vote!

When is the San Andreas Fault going to do it's job?

I totally support Arizona. The state's doing the right thing. I'd like to e-mail the LA city council members and let them know how I feel. However, I don't have an e-mail address. If any of you have it, please share it.

As a resident of Arizona, I am proud of the spine we are showing lately. I would like to see a groundswell "Reverse Boycott" where the 70% of people who support our actions make a conscious decision to try to spend their money in Arizona. I think it would add up to to a lot more business than what we are losing because of some corrupt bankrupt cities that are boycotting us.

Thoughts?

California - The state of fruits and nuts. If you are so in love with these illegal aliens, I am sure that Arizona would ship all 500,000 of them to L.A. California in the 50s was great. In the 60s not so bad, then it went south. I moved away in 1975 and will never go back except to visit my grandchildren. I have been living in ultra-liberal Washington for 33 years and I am looking forward to returning to Arizona and joining the war going on there. I say war, because the drug lords are killing our citizens there and all of my friends in Southern Arizona must go around armed, even in their own back yards. Horray to Pelosi, Obama, Napolitano, Holder, Biden, Reid and the whole liberal bunch. Time to dump the skunks.

Viva LOS 1107. I was thinking about buying one those tea shirts (tee) (is that how you spell it?) and wearing while riding the bus here north of Sarasota, Florida. What do ya think? I might get passed up by the the Latino bus driver, so I better plan it right...huh?

hey I'm a Texan and for Arizona hope Texas does the same. I feel for you people in California having some leaders like house speaker and city leaders that don't no if they are washing are hanging out. Stay in there Arizona.
