Default Obama has a 'Pet Goat' moment

The Washington Times

Hours after the Fort Hood massacre, a grieving nation looked to the president for consolation and leadership. Instead, it got light banter and a "shout-out" before President Obama read a perfunctory statement. The president has always had a reputation for coolness, but in this case, he was utterly detached. He can't blame the scriptwriter for his astonishing lack of empathy.

Mr. Obama was scheduled to speak at the Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Department of Interior's Bureau of Indian Affairs. Rather than canceling the photo op or addressing the tragedy from another venue, the president chose to open with the kind of obligatory thanks and recognitions that would be appropriate in any other circumstance but not this one. The emotional shift was jarring and confusing. It was as though he were an actor switching scripts heedless of the emotional content of the event he was addressing.

Being completely politically IN-correct, I don't mind saying this. What should we expect from Muslims? Yeah, yeah, there are good Muslims and bad Muslims. Just like there are good Baptists and bad Baptists. The difference is that I don't read about too many Baptist-ic terrorist cowardly acts of violence against innocents.

When was the last Methodist Jihad? How many heads have been severed by the Catholics lately?

When are "we" going to drop this notion of trying to compare the scent of a skunk to a bouquet of roses? The military can make a great start by mustering out any Muslim on active or inactive duty. The justification was just delivered by another Abba-Dabba-Doo that was a fuse waiting to be lit.

I'm sick to death of hearing how we need to "improve" relations with Muslims. Hey, how about them improving relations with the United States and the rest of the non-Muslim world?

'Pet Goat' moment or 'same war' could blend together, here. Might as well.

But, yeah-his shout-out first and sadness to our murdered military, later. What a guy...what a leader....what a pure, immature, self patronizing, patriotically misguided, WIMP!

Pathetic!!

I watched the clip and Obama looked like one of those air-headed beautiful people that some stations get to read the news. You know the ones I am talking about. They can't write and can barely read, but they are put on the air because they "look good". He was like the Ted character on the Mary Tyler Moore show. He was probably too self-involved to realize how utterly ridiculous he looked by doing a shout-out before discussing such a horrible tragedy.

Here's the video for those who haven't seen it. It's a full 2 minutes before Obama mentions Ft. Hood.

It's not hard to imagine the outcry and double standard that we would certainly see if a "non-Democrat" public figure displayed this lack of tact, timing and sensitivity that President Obama muddled through last week.
Two weeks ago, when he visited Dover AFB to visit with families as their loved ones' remains returned to U.S. soil, did he not offer to spend time or have a photo op with each group? Of the 18 or so families, all but one declined, if I recall the story correctly.
George W. Bush would have made a similar visit but on the condition that no media would be allowed. You can disagree with his policies all you want, but in these cases of human suffering and loss, he would make himself available for personal time with grieving families, not in a photo-op but a time of genuine compassion out of the limelight. The contrast is clear.

Obamoron at his best. Hey, how about a shout out to all the hiphop artists in the audience...

Pathetic excuse for a caring person, let alone the President. But, a perfect excuse for a politician!

...except there was enough time that someone with a brain could have scripted something - anything - for the Scarecrow and fed it into the teleprompter.

BTW. President & Mrs. Bush went to Ft. Hood on Friday to offer condolences to families and visit those soldiers that were wounded in the massacre.

Hmmm...let's see who do you reckon actually cares about the military?

But now the PINO has had time to get some direction. He will be attending a memorial service at Ft. Hood tomorrow (I'm sure Rahm explained what a great photo op it will be - thus another crisis not wasted).

The AP reports:
Quote:
He praised those who ended the shootings, which killed 13 and wounded 30 others, and lauded the armed services' diversity — a move designed to calm tensions about the suspected shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan.

"They are Americans of every race, faith and station. They are Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus and nonbelievers," Obama said in his radio and Internet address Saturday, airing the weekend before Veterans Day.

"They are descendants of immigrants and immigrants themselves. They reflect the diversity that makes this America. But what they share is a patriotism like no other."

Kumbaya. PUKE! Politically correct stupidity is what has gotten thousands of people in this country killed.

....But what they share is a patriotism like no other. Yep Hasan proved that to be true. No matter where they are born, no matter where they go to school, no matter which army they join - they want you DEAD, Infidel! It can't be much clearer.
