Default Palin rallies thousands of abortion opponents

Politico

WEST ALLIS, Wisc. – Sarah Palin rallied thousands of abortion opponents Friday night with a a stark warning that the same philosophy that allows abortion rights could soon be invoked to allow the government to cut off health care for the elderly or children with special needs.

Speaking to a fund-raising banquet of Wisconsin Right to Life, the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee asserted that if policy-makers don’t believe a child in the womb is valuable, then “perhaps the same mind-set applies to other persons.”

I'd have been there if I hadn't known the place would be pakced to the hilt and I'm not good at braving such big crowds anymore. Charlie Sykes (WTMJ-Milwaukee) was the MC and he's been pumpiing this for the past 10 days.

Quote:
Palin did not expressly raise the prospect of government-mandated “death panels” to determine who lives or dies – the incendiary and inaccurate charge

Obviously the folks at Politico are unable to think linearly or critically. When you strip government health care down to its basic delivery system there will be rationing and who will be the first to get less health care? Duh............... the elderly.

Her charge is certainly incendiary but it certainly isn't "inaccurate".
Quote:
a gentleman wearing a Harley-Davidson fleece pull-over and jeans joked to his friends that he was going to ask Palin to marry him, summing up his devotion this way: “She thinks like I do, she’s absolutely gorgeous and Democrats are afraid of her – what’s not to like?”

I love this "gentleman" as Politico snarkily called him. Anyone of the "upper" class wearing Guccis would have been just described as a man. I could almost hear the sniff as the author of the article typed it.

Well right back atcha, Politico!!

P.S. I was glad to hear that at least 3 of the media paid for tickets to help out "Right to Life", not that any of them would have ever thought of that. I think it's The only thing they thought of was they were putting one over on Right to Life for not allowing media to attend.

The event made clear that for her ardent supporters she remains more phenomenon than traditional politician.
There' more support for Gov Palin's evaluation of "death panels" than this Politico reporter's bias showing. It's these kinds of "phenomena" that can result in Hoffman-type conservative candidates taking out Democrat hirelings and their RINO buddies like Specter (vs Pat Toomey) and Scozzafava a year from now. Written in a true Obama-like denigrating manner.

Politico took their lib shots, but at least they covered and reported it. None of the others did that I've seen.

I found this in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on line. They're a very leftwing paper. Just ask AZWW about Ricardo Pimentel!! However, surprisingly enough, this is a pretty straight forward piece of writing.

Palin rallies state’s abortion opponents
Visit is days before her book is released

By Bill Glauber of the Journal Sentinel

West Allis — Less than two weeks before the release of her memoir "Going Rogue," former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was on message during a Friday night speech to anti-abortion activists at State Fair Park.

"Let's simplify, we're pro children," Palin told thousands of people who attended a $30-a-ticket fund-raiser for the Wisconsin Right to Life Education Fund.

In a personal and passionate speech, Palin lauded the state's anti-abortion movement for legislative advances achieved over time.

"We were told to sit down and shut up," Palin said. "Wisconsin, you went rogue."

Palin spoke movingly of her youngest son, Trig, who has Down syndrome. She recalled that when she was pregnant, she underwent an ultrasound and the technician told her, "I see boy parts."

Later, the technician told her that the baby's neck "is a little bit thicker," an indication that there might be an extra chromosome. A few days later, Down syndrome was confirmed

How bizarre...
The article that leads this thread said not once did her speech raise anyone to their feet.

The tone was at best tepid, at worst sneering.

Article 2 said, "Her words brought the crowd to their feet, cheering." or words to that effect.

Are these two articles talking about the same speech to the same crowd?
