CBS & NBC Fail to ID Hasan as Muslim; ABC's Raddatz Relays: 'I Wish His Name was Smith'
Newsbusters
Neither the CBS Evening News nor NBC Nightly News, in their East coast feeds Thursday night, noted the Muslim religious beliefs of the mass killer at the Fort Hood Army base in Texas, but ABC anchor Charles Gibson wasn't cowed by political correctness as he teased World News, “Fort Hood tragedy: An Army officer, a Muslim convert, is the suspect in a shooting spree...” Introducing his first story, Gibson referred to how Major Nidal Malik Hasan “an army officer, a Muslim, opened fire with handguns...” (With a range of frequency, during late afternoon/early evening coverage, CNN, FNC and MSNBC all identified Hasan as a Muslim.)
Cryptically, ABC's senior foreign affairs correspondent, Martha Raddatz, concluded a story on reaction at Fort Hood: “As for the suspect, Nadal Hasan, as one officer's wife told me, 'I wish his name was Smith.'” So, a concern this will lead to groundless fear of Muslims?

Curious - I suppose the next hate speech crime legislation will be under the banner of religous persecution and these kinds of political incorrect descriptions will be removed from our media lexicon entirely.
Esp. with our Christo-Islam Kenyan-American president.
Oops - did I say that?

Heaven only knows what Raddatz or this woman are talking about. Obviously Raddatz didn't put the question. "Why do you say that?" to the woman. Was the army wife a Muslim also? I have a hard time believing that a Christian or Jew would say such a thing because this is the conclusion to which an MSM reporter would come.
I'm beginning to wonder if he fired at soldiers that were mainly women. A Wisconsin woman was killed, Hasan was shot by a woman and another woman was shot in the hip, she's the one who didn't know she was shot and put a tourniquet on a fellow soldier's leg and carried him away.

I'd like to know who and why Hassan was promoted in May having the evidence that he was a defiant soldier who was against fighting a war in Iraq and Afganistan!
He obviously was on a fast track becoming a Major, no less, without ever being a day in combat! WHY?
I bet the families of the soldiers that were slaughtered are asking the same thing but not publicly!!

Renee', I'm not the only one on this forum that was career military. I didn't do 20, I left after two enlistments. However, I DO know, that in the medical Corps, whether Army, Navy or Air Force, medical personnel don't have to go to combat to be promoted. They simply need to pass whatever tests are required and get at least mediocre evaluations. The more critical the job, the more mediocre an evaluation can be, just to retain personnel.

Mark Steyn is filling in for Rush and he said that all doctors are automatically promoted to Major when they receive board certification.

Having a family name of Smith, I resent that anyone would say this whether it was from a wife of an officer or from ABC even mentioning it.
A good friend had a son on base, but he was not in the area of the shootings, which his mother was so thankful as was I, but we pray for the families of the ones lost and the injured and are saddened by this terrible tragedy.

Re: CBS & NBC Fail to ID Hasan as Muslim; ABC's Raddatz Relays: 'I Wish His Name was Smith'
Seeing Europe falling into the hands of Sharia-madrasses like Muslims is a fate which may come to our nation if we don't stop the PC baloney of not even calling a Muslim killer, a Muslim terrorist. Frankly , the Military Services better vet every Muslim in their branches and do it now. I would never put a Muslim in any high level authority. Never. Yeah, I know that is not PC, but I am too old to care. And in America, the FBI better be spying on every mosque in urban areas and hopefully listening to them on spy materials. Not PC but, again, look at France, Spain, Germany and the West End of London as Muslims sweep into those areas. Sorry, I do not want that for America.

A radical Muslim terrorist, by any other name is still a radical Muslim terrorist!!
They are all suspect in this country, as they should be, just waiting for their number to be called, as were the 9/11 terrorists!!
Don't be fooled by PC, it will be the death of OUR COUNTRY!!!! THEY must be STOPPED at all costs!!!! START, by returning them to their homeland and END all further migration from any country outside the U.S.!!!!
Don't forget about our Illegal alien problem and SEAL the borders, ports and ALL points of entry, completely!!!!
