Health Care Reform Assumes Millions Would Pay Fine Rather Than Get Coverage

The health care reform bill awaiting debate in the House assumes millions of workers and employers would rather pay $167 billion in fines than purchase or provide adequate coverage, according to a recent analysis, raising questions about whether the plan does enough to make insurance affordable.

Though the bill is estimated to expand coverage from the current 83 percent to 96 percent of legal U.S. residents, the windfall of projected penalty payments also exposes a potential contradiction in reform. A significant part of the plan to expand coverage relies financially on fines from the uninsured.

If you couldn't see this two-headed horse coming at you, your either blind or didn't want to see it. From the beginning, this nanny state admin. has had this design to increase it's coffers. Matter of fact, I'm pretty sure there will be a way to collect the mula before the universal healthcare is even slated to begin. If there is one thing democraps are good at it's screwing the taxpayer out of their hard earned dollars. The dumb monkeys out there don't even see that the actual obamacare won't start until after Z Big O is out of office. I thought this was an emergency and it is going to solve our economic woes. Yet a third alternative is that people will elect to pay the fines, which is cheaper than paying premiums. Until they get really sick. And then since coverage can't be denied for pre-existing conditions, then they will get insurance and get it to pay the astronomical costs of their care, which they never paid into the insurance fund for. Thus they will screw the insurance companies, which by that time will probably just be the federal government. Thus since the feds screwed them to make them pay a fine if they didn't want to buy the insurance, they get the last laugh by screwing the gov't to pay for their catastrophic care after only paying for fines, not insurance, which would've cost them more. The American people aren't as stupid as the politicians are.
