Blankley: A Curious Lack Of Curiosity Over Intelligence Outrage
By Tony Blankley
November 4, 2009
Not so long ago, there was a furious fight among different tribes in the White House, CIA and State and Defense departments over the correct war-fighting strategy. The coin of the realm back then was intelligence. Intelligence that pointed in the right policy direction was cherry-picked and shown to the public; covert players connected to undesirable conclusions were outed or disparaged. This fight for the hearts and minds of Washington opinion shapers was fought out on the battlefields of The Washington Post and The New York Times -- and from them to the networks and news outlets across the country and around the world.
These descriptions may remind you of Valerie Plame -- a CIA operations officer with relatively minor responsibilities who was outed by someone in the George W. Bush administration. As soon as the press corps came to believe that someone -- perhaps close to the president -- had leaked her name to Bob Novak, the hunt was on. The media screamed for investigations. The CIA called for a Justice Department investigation. The opposition Democrats called for a special prosecutor to probe the unconscionable breach. The prosecutor was appointed by Bush. A trial was held.

Who ever leaked this to the media needs to be prosecuted and jailed. Why aren't the same Democrats outraged like with Plame. Oh... that's
right Democrats live the double standard, do as I say not as I do. The rules do not apply to me. The rules only apply to you the People.

In the Plame case, the liberal pols and media were really just looking for a way to get at President Bush. They weren't interested in ethics or justice.
In this case, the media are just a bunch of sycophants. They don't care if America, the CIA, defense, or anyone else (including our front line troops) is harmed. They will continue to blindly support the Obama administration. Legal? Illegal? Who cares? Not the libs!

Re: Blankley: A Curious Lack Of Curiosity Over Intelligence Outrage
Even as the liberal media flailed away at the Bush administration re Plame, it was discovered and Andrew Card, the anti-war aide to SecState Powell was the one who did. Somehow that didn't translate to the MSM.
This is absolutely an act of treason. Karzai is an active mole, working for the CIA right now (if he's still alive).
Blankley can give a pass to these upright, honest newsmen, but I question their loyalty if not their thought processes on this. They knew this was classified info but printed it anyway, just as they did all the way through the Bush administration.
I hope this is just not payback for the Thin-Skinned Ones in the House and White-House. Just the thought of this makes me ill.

Re: Blankley: A Curious Lack Of Curiosity Over Intelligence Outrage
Richard Armitage 'outed' Plame. Actually there was no 'outing' because Valerie was a nobody pencil pusher with a husband whose enmity for the Bush Administration was controlled and directed by high-level Democrats. The entire 'Plamegate' hoopla was a contrived bunch of hogwash, but the Karzai outing was for real, and you can bet that Imanuel or Axelrod set up the leak.
So again we have what should be a huge Democrat scandal that goes past without so much as a whisper. Thanks media for again failing America by not doing your jobs.
