This was a long read and it dealt with the story of groups being backed by George Soros, who seems to have backed every leftwing group that ever existed in the U.S. That may be a bit of an overstatement but not too far off in my opinion.
Many of us in
realized years ago that these churches were headed far left as fast as they could run and dragging their congregations with them.
It certainly wouldn't have taken Soros long to figure this out, so instead of hitching his wagon to these flaring stars, he just got behind and pushed, with money as the accelerant.
Now the church hierarchies are backing out because they were found out.
The fact remains that church groups advocated for shutting down the First Amendment which gives us all Freedom of Speech by appealing to the government. Yes, that government that is supposed to support our right to Free Speech.
However, our present government managed to pass a "hate crimes" bill while we were all being distracted by the Health Care bill and the threat of Cap and Trade.
It wouldn't take much for the "hate crimes" bill to be expanded to include speech, too.
Just the fact that these churches would join a group like this and petition for shutting up conservative talkers shows how far left our mainstream churches have gone.
