ObamaCare for Seniors: Sorry, You're Just Not Worth It

The debate over Barack Obama's health care plan continues. Senators are trying to cut deals and members of the House of Representatives are doing the same. Democrats are trying to push through a massive government plan that will cost Americans billions and billions of dollars all because Obama wants to take power away from the people and put it in the hands of government.

Throughout this debate, the voices of seniors have been strangely and disturbingly silent. Do they not know the details of ObamaCare? Are they so enamored with this "nice, young man" that they don't even look at what the plan has to offer? ObamaCare has a strong message for seniors, and it is one they shouldn't ignore: If you are old in America, then don't get sick... you're not worth the cost.

Hell, we're not worth it now. Medicare is a joke, a dirty joke on the seniors in this country. Obamacare will, of course, make it much, much worse. As things stand now, it is difficult to find a doctor worth his salt who will accept Medicare patients, even those with medigap policies and who can actually pay any charges not picked up by both those entities.

It would behoove seniors to stay as healthy as humanly possible and I am very grateful that I have rarely needed to see a doctor in the 8 years since I arrived at my 65th birthday. Until recently when I had a rather unpleasant bout of tendinitis in a shoulder, I had not seen a medical professional in 14 years. May my good fortune continue.

Why aren't seniors up in arms about this health care bill? Don't they understand what will happen to thier health care more then any other citizen?

Seniors were up in arms with the thought of offering an option of a small percentage of their social security money being used to invest in the stock market which would be their choice to do or not but now with the their very health care being taken over by the government and the most to lose if it goes through, the silence is deafening!

Everyone seems to be in Obama's pocket. All the medical groups, hospital, nursing org.? Now CBO in one short day has finally come to the rescue as far as costs that they said would be too much to now agreeing with the administration?

Did you know the youngest will be effected also with the priority of funds going to the 15-40 age group whereas the youngest and oldest people get chances that are attenuated?

People , we are talking about who decides life and death issues for us!

isn't this the usual way of doing business up there??? one recent cliff hanger was withholding her vote until she got a few billion for her pet project--some off the wall study, and she then changed her vote!

seniors today are confused on this with all the dis-information being put out by the media and then what little is coming from their reps and then by the disreputable aarp that they have no idea of what is going on or what this bill entails and how it will affect their future.

of course we know that bo bo doesn't have a soft spot for his grandparents so why should you??? no, we seniors don't have anything to teach our grandkids, that is all left up to the schools to teach the slop the government wants them to know. heck we can't even teach the kids how to make their favorite cookies I guess or we are in the wrong and more than useless. the kids are supposed to be as cold hearted about seniors as bo bo da clown and ilk who wrote this crap up!!!!!!

I'm sitting here looking at the picture of my best friend that died a few months ago. The Colonel served in WW II in the Navy. He joined AF Reserve for Korea and served through Vietnam. As a conservative he was quite upset by the people's choice to lead this country. I get a little solace that he doesn't have to see what's happening to this country. My Dad served in WW II and my FIL carried metal his whole life from the landing in France. My Grandfather chased Pancho Villa all over the southwest. I know what they'd think of what I leave for the grandchildren. I guess I'm depressed. I don't want to be a burden on my country or expect anyone to provide for me, but I do get SS. There is guilt about that. I guess America's seniors never thought they'd have to beg their children for care? I would prefer to go out fighting, but if I must, I'll just go ahead and die for my country.

I can not comment on this because no matter what I say I will be targeted as a nut case so I will only say this ,it is unfair to burden the seniors with cost cutting when they do not have much finances in the first place. I said we would miss Bush and we are and will as time goes by

This is just more "proof POSITIVE" that Obama and his band of THUGS are not only Not American, but cannot find their backend with both hands.

Their plan has nothing to do with making anything better for America. It is ONLY to TAKEOVER everything.

The American people, especially the seniors, who have paid the way for OBAMA all of his Thug buddies so far are getting the full force of what these guys are all about.

There is no concern for 'covering' people with healthcare because the facts are that this type of Nationalized Healthcare doesn't work and has never worked. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD CONTINUE TO PURSUE THIS TYPE OF POLICY????? Instead of actually FIXING the things that are broken, they intend to make them worse.

The conclusion can only be, "either ALL the folks in Washington are complete and udder IMBECILES OR they are out for POWER AND CONTROL OF EVERYTHING.

This is not a surprise. It is EXACTLY what Obama said he was going to do when he got into office. THANKS to all the REAL EMBICILES that voted him into office we get to see him live out his 'takeover' promises.

I pray we are allowed to vote some out in 2010 and HIM in 2012 and maybe some common sense will set into the idiots that thought he was so great.

As long as we have Republicans ready to 'cave' into this INSANITY, we will keep getting stuck with people who do not care about the taxpayers at all.

Let's see, "kill off a few million seniors and keep killing 4000 babies or more per day in this country" Obama has not shown any human effection for anyone except himself. UNLESS it was to make HIM look better or get him votes. Isn't nice to have a President of the United States who actually TELLS people he cares very little about them or this country?

If we make sure the seniors are removed sooner by denying them necessary medical attention, it makes more room for the ANOINTED one to takeover the world.

I agree with the content of this article but the question is, what do we do about it?

I've contacted my Senators and Representatives and they are on board to defeat this Bill. How do we get more Democrat members to oppose this bill?
AARP is a pack of socialist and back the liberal dictates of the Democrats. They led the outcry over the investment of Medicare withholding into stocks because that was what the Liberals wanted.
The Democrat members of Congress don't give a damn about the elderly, only more power for themselves. Their constituents will keep voting them in because they are as liberal as the politician. Any backlash after this monstrosity is forced on us will be too late to help anyway.
How do we start the Revolution to take back our Nation from these Communist? Waiting for 2010 may well be too late......
