Reagan: New Independence Push -- 233 Years Later
By Michael Reagan
July 2, 2009
As families across the nation get set to celebrate our nation's independence, it is important to take a moment to reflect on the bravery of the men and women who defiantly stood up to the English Empire and fought for the right to live in a free, democratic and sovereign nation. Whether reflecting on one of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence, a nurse tending to wounded Americans soldiers, a gunpowder manufacturer or a private fighting against the vaunted English Army, it was their collective effort that paved the way for our framers to develop a unique system of government that was based on representation rather than repression. Over the last 233 years since the beginning of our remarkable revolution, the United States of America has prospered and developed into a nation that serves as an inspiring example of freedom, standing in stark contrast to the many countries governed by socialistic, totalitarian and authoritarian rule.

Had the settlers who took up arms against the British been able to see into the future to what is happening in this country today, they might well have put down their arms and gone home to their families.....or perhaps never have bothered in the first place!

It is our obligation to fight this abomination in DC with whatever means at our disposal. We've been left too valuable a heritage to allow it to be stolen without a struggle.
We should all reread and carefully consider the striking words in the Declaration of Independence and then act.

It might be our obligation to fight this, however the American people are such sheep they only care about themselves.

Re: Reagan: New Independence Push -- 233 Years Later
Tiberius, there are fence sitters out there - the so called independents - who might be inspired by a little education on our history. In particular, the Declaration of Independence, something I'm sure was skimmed over in their public education.
If they're really keen, they might tackle the Constitution (shortest and most precise in the world) and the Bill of Rights. The latter covers the first 10 amendments to the Constitution but the most important. The rest could wait.
It's only through education that we can reclaim America. One of the first things Mao did after taking over mainland China was to murder most educators. A stupid and uneducated populace can be misled by any brute. Lenin and Stalin did the same in Russia. Our 'educators' have already been coopted and it's up to us to spread the truth.

All I can add to this is enjoy your freedoms while you can. You might not have them much longer if Bam-Bam, Pelousy, and Reid get their way.
