Segel: Hey America ... Remember?
By Thomas D. Segel
May 21, 2009
Hey America, do you remember when a single political party took over complete control of the government? It happened because of bitterness about the war and unhappiness among the citizens.
Do you remember when people started believing that the only way to solve what they perceived as problems was to ignore the Constitution? The lack of citizen concern for the way the country should be governed led to multiple constitutional violations.
Do you remember when massive financial support provided the funding for the election campaign? This was particularly evident when wealthy businessmen offered their backing.

Re: Segel: Hey America ... Remember?
I saw where this was going by the second paragraph.
Most of us in this forum recognized the coming hazard months before the election.
I've been looking for information on recalling a President but at the moment I've only found two petitions, one to recall obama which looks like something written by an illiterate eigth grader. The other is to recall President Bush! You would think it were taken down by now.
I have started to cross paths with people who regret having voted for him. This is a hopeful sign. We need to recall this fool and declare unconstitutional some of his new "laws" while we still have the ability.
This guy is dangerous beyond belief.

I have been telling people the parallels between Hitler and Obama are absolutely startling since he first became a super-delegate...
I don't think you can recall a president. I am pretty sure they have to be impeached by the Congress...I may be mistaken about that entirely of course.

I, too, knew exactly who he was talking about by the second paragraph. History repeats itself and like the saying goes, those who fail to learn from it are doomed to repeat it. And so we are. I only hope our situation doesn't end like Nazi Germany, with a megalomaniacal, fascist dictator who goes to war and brings the entire nation down in humiliating, crushing defeat from which it never regains its international stature.

Given yet another startling parallel to Hitler this week, with Obama's taking over of GM, this article becomes all the more relevant, don't you think? You just know that the next cars to roll out of GM are likely to be much like the Volkswagen. Economical, small, but probably real expensive!

Leave it to a Texan to have the guts to say it publically. And leave it our glorious ultra-biased media to studiously ignore the obvious. Sig Heil Barry.

Re: Segel: Hey America ... Remember?
How can this President get away with taking over a company without any legislation or oversight by the Congress? Can someone tell me when he became King, I keep asking!!!
He seems to get away without any oversight by our legislators. Where are the Republicans and why aren't they at least getting on the media with some kind of protest to this Presidents actions? Are they not allowed or what? We the public need to hear some answers to this take over of our country without a whimper!!!

The media is in on it. They helped elect him, they have deified him and they are not going to change because they are wearing leftist/progressive blinders.
