Malkin: Who's Afraid Of Joe The Journalist?
By Michelle Malkin
January 9, 2009
If a community organizer can be president and a Saturday Night Live comedian can be a U.S. Senator, why can't a plumber be a reporter?
Joe Wurzelbacher, a.k.a. Joe the Plumber, is headed to Israel to interview ordinary citizens about life in the crosshairs of jihad. He'll be filing dispatches for conservative Internet video broadcasting site PJTV.com (to which I also contribute). Predictably, the very idea of a non-credentialed public figure attempting to "do journalism" has catty elite journalists hacking up hairballs.

It is about time. Since the media refuses to do the job it was trained to do, perhaps we will get some decent reporting on what's really going on! Way to go, Joe!

The only ones that are afraid of JOE are the written and/or electronic HACKS that have not done their jobs in years! The HACKS err I meant the Press simply prints democrat / liberal talking points as the truth. They are afraid of Joe because they know no one takes them seriously any more, and they resent the fact that the average US citizen will take Joe seriously. GO JOE! (I'm jealous too)!

Re: Malkin: Who's Afraid Of Joe The Journalist?
It is about time. Way to go Joe! This seems to be the only way we will get the truth out since the Media is like Pravda in the Soviet Union which did nothing but propagandize. After I saw the so called News Conference today and saw Obama was looking down and calling the pre-selected reporters with questions, I knew our media had changed forever and could no longer be trusted. Later in the day when I heard on a radio program that Mr. Axelrod had sent out memos to the media asking them to change their wording on issues for a softer approach after getting feedback from focus groups, I knew that we were in for a totally controlled Obama dancing to the tune of the far left. Believe me, you have not seen anything yet! What bothers me is that today I heard that 7 out of 10 people in the US could not read. These are the same uninformed people that voted in this election. Our dumbed down citizens who follow the piper who offers them everything. Unbelievable!

Re: Malkin: Who's Afraid Of Joe The Journalist?
I would llike to state that I am a "journalist" of sorts and I never went to school for it, and I am a Published Author with one book under my belt, and I never went to school for that either. A degree doesn't make a Journalist nor a writer or a reporter of the news. "They" would like to make you believe that there is no way an average person can do their jobs, but I beg to differ with all of "them".... I published a weekly newspaper in the community I live in for almost 5 years and didn't have any help other than a few contributing Authors on some basic subjects and some universal places to write about that I didn't have the background on, that were of interest to my readers, but I did most of the paper myself, as well as all the formatting, the designing, the printing, the distribution, and the advertising sales and of course, much of the writing. Journalsim is nothing more than common sense application and a direction for a point of view, and IF you stick true to your points, you can do fine at it, and thus, I think that "Joe the Plumber" will be an asset to the field in which he choses to put himself in. All you need is a good reference to fall back on when the story doesn't want to come tto you, and go out and start interviewing to get where you want to be. It is not always easy, but it sure is fun.
I am not jealous of his ability or knowledge, he deserves whatever he can get out of the mess that the MSM made of his life from the time he asked Barack a question that he had every right to ask. "They" had no business tearing into his private life and doing evereything they could to destroy him, shame on them, now let them fend for themselves when he comes back with some great stuff to show for the tearing up he got. Truth is on his side.....

Re: Malkin: Who's Afraid Of Joe The Journalist?
Just about any “average Joe” that I know would make a better journalist and/or news reporter than the liberal scum that are in the “profession” now, and I use the term very loosely because the current crop of reporters, all educated and brainwashed under the liberal education and indoctrination system, have no idea of what unbiased, fair and objective journalism is supposed to entail.
To them journalism is just another tool to advance their socialist, liberal agenda to overthrow the traditional American way of life.
I hope Joe stays safe in Israel and no errant bullet or rocket finds him and he comes back safely to tell Kyra Phillips, “In your face.”
