Missouri senator's exit alters political landscape
By SUZANNE GAMBOA
Associated Press
January 9, 2009
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The decision by Republican Sen. Kit Bond of Missouri to end more than a two-decade run in the Senate had an immediate impact on the political outlook for his home state and made the next election cycle tougher for the national GOP.
Republicans lost three of the five Senate seats opened by retirements last year and are facing at least one more retirement in Florida, a swing state.
Bond already was headed toward a highly competitive, highly watched re-election bid in 2010. By announcing Thursday that he would not seek re-election when his current term ends, Bond accelerated the ground game for the candidates that will vie for his seat.

That's just great.
We've got some kookie demokrats in Missouri. I'm sure they are salivating over a U.S. Senate seat.

Re: Missouri senator's exit alters political landscape
Despite the lowest poll numbers ever for Congress with the Dems in the majority, ignorant voters blamed Republicans because Bush is President.
Our only hope is that now that o will be president, the same ignorant voters will blame Dems for the mess our country is becoming and vote out the Dems.
Of course the MSM will do it's best to blame Republicans so all bets are off the table. We'll just have to wait and pray the majority of voters pay a little more attention.

I can not think of anything bad enough to turn people away from BO. He could give away New York and it wouldn't bother anyone. They may gripe a little if he gave away Colorado.

I sense our 40 seat filibuster margin in terrible danger unless the electorate wakes up from the Obama dream they have been having and realizes it is the Dimocraps who are leading our country to ruin.

Re: Missouri senator's exit alters political landscape
What makes anyone think there's actually going to be a free and fair election in '10, since the Chicago cancer had metastasized nationwide in '08? If Franken-stein pulls off his election theft, I think we can forget about anything resembling free and fair elections in the future.
The commie left has produced a nation of dumb sheeple who can't think for themselves anyway, and let the commiecrats think for them; and those of us who can think for ourselves....well, can you say "re-education camp"?

Re: Missouri senator's exit alters political landscape
Its time for Bond to go. He has some good people to ''primary''...so far:
Roy Blunt, Jim Talent, and Sarah Steelman.
I believe there will be several more GOPs looking at it too.
I can't think of a decent Dem to even vie for the seat. They are all crooks like our Dem Sen already seated.
But then again, maybe MO is looking for crooks....lots of dumb bunnies here who have no clue about background and what it takes.
If you know someone in MO be sure you educate them about their candidates. I know I will.

Senator Kit Bond sees the "writing on the wall".
How many other Americans do??
