Malkin: The Generational Theft Act Of 2009
By Michelle Malkin
January 7, 2009
Barack Obama has dubbed his behemoth fiscal stimulus proposal the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan." But if truth in advertising were required of White House plans, only one title would fit the trillion-dollar-plus-and-growing bill: The Generational Theft Act of 2009.
President-elect Obama was at his most candid when he told the country Tuesday that we face massive deficits for the foreseeable future. "Potentially we've got trillion-dollar deficits for years to come," he said, "even with the economic recovery that we are working on."
But one word is glaringly out of place in that warning. It's the word "even." Washington will saddle future generations with unprecedented debt because of the economic interventions Obama is planning, not despite them.

Are you stuck on that note or do you really think that this Congress is going to vote for a constitutional amendment to limit their terms?

Instead, it's more of the same old, same old mortgaging of our children's future for the sake of present political crisis management.

And what kind of precedent does it set for a segment of America that believes expensive homes, autos, an unearned income and anything else you'd care to name all should be provided by government.
Term limits? To what end. Some of these 'Mr. Smith goes to Washington' newly minted congressmen have good intentions until they get inside the beltway. Bye bye good intentions.

Re: Malkin: The Generational Theft Act Of 2009
The ONLY, and I repeat ONLY, good thing to come out of this would be that if Hussein is in charge when this eternal and forever budget busting goes down, history will judge him, rightly, as the one who stole money from the succeeding generations to pay for the excess and mistakes of his present.
On the other hand, the way history is rewritten and lied about by liberals who spin and turn it to their own purposes to promote their agenda in education, they will find some way to blame Bush and the Republicans, and just as they did in the 30’s and 40’s for FDR, praise Hussein and the Dims for valiantly trying to fight it, even though they were the ones responsible for our children being so far in debt that there will never be enough money in the universe for them to crawl out.
