Limbaugh: Are They All Democrats Now?
By David Limbaugh
January 6, 2009
Barack Obama, itching to implement his gigantic stimulus package as soon as possible, is dangling the idea of combining his spending package with a tax cut in hopes of securing another kind of stimulus: Republican support for his package. Republicans should remember that when you polish manure, you still have manure.
Obama went to Capitol Hill Monday to promote his stimulus plan of between $675 billion and $775 billion. An estimated 40 percent of the package (between $270 billion and $310 billion) would consist of tax cuts.
Obama strategists say the proposed tax cuts are based on historical and empirical evidence of what works, not ideology. But despite his denials, Obama's intention to target the cuts to the "middle class" and exclude higher-income earners, whose stimulated activity has been shown to have the greatest economic impact, betrays his crippling bondage to ideology.

Re: Limbaugh: Are They All Democrats Now?
Apparently, most are Dems now. We've seen the disastrous results of 'compassionate conservatism' and Republicans lining up to sign massive spending bills and to what end? For one, the end of GOP majorities in both the House and Senate.
This is another illustration of why a wide broom is needed to sweep out the old guard in the GOP, beginning with its leadership that has been sorely lacking in principles.
One thing the past years have taught us is that voters can't be bought. They must be sold on an idea that past failed policies don't and won't work, regardless of how they're repackaged; that true prosperity and liberty can only be achieved by independence from government. True independence from government starts with non-dependence on it.

They sure are acting like they are. Same thing is happening in Texas. The Democrats are still the minority party, but they are going to elect the Speaker of the Texas House.

There are few truths which have been proven over and again such as "History is Philosophy teaching by examples." The attachment of Obama, Liberals, and, unfortunately, all too many supposed Conservatives (Bush, Sec. Treas. Paulson, etc.) to the FDR (Socialist) model of economics is simply one more example of flat-out arrogance. They seem to believe that the reason such programs have failed in the past is because those who went before were not as smart as they are.

Re: Limbaugh: Are They All Democrats Now?
Where, oh where are our CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS? Maybe it will take another Great Depression to knock some sense into these people who think that all they have to do is "print and spend" more money and everything will work out.
The bigger problem today is that the liberal spenders are NOT spending on the good of the country but on THEIR own special interests and political careers. They could care less if the country benefits just so they will have the money and the glory.
Just think of how the people of this country would boost the economy if they were given this money to spend. Houses, cars, TVs, investing, traveling. I think the money would be better spent by the people.
Of course, that would NOT serve to advance anyone's political careers or pad the pockets of our corrupt government representatives, so you will never see that happen.
I think Obama's $500 "tax cut" to the people is a total insult. It didn't work for Bush and it will not work for Obama either.

Re: Limbaugh: Are They All Democrats Now?
The unfortunate answer to this would have to be, yes. Even if they call themselves Republicans, many, if not most are moderates and/or RINO’s more apt to vote socialist like a Dimocrap than a true Republican with principles and backbone. The future is dark indeed.
