Fund: Obama Was Mute on Illinois Corruption
By JOHN FUND
This week Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was arrested on charges that he conspired to sell Barack Obama's U.S. Senate seat, among other misdeeds. At first the president-elect tried to distance himself from the issue: "It is a sad day for Illinois. Beyond that, I don't think it's appropriate for me to comment." But it quickly became clear that Mr. Obama would have to say more, and yesterday he called for Mr. Blagojevich to resign and for a special election to fill the vacant Senate seat.
What remains to be seen is whether this episode will put an end to what Chicago Tribune political columnist John Kass calls the national media's "almost willful" fantasy that Mr. Obama and Chicago's political culture have little to do with each other. Mr. Kass notes that the media devoted a lot more time and energy to investigating the inner workings of Sarah Palin's Wasilla, Alaska, than it has looking at Mr. Obama's Chicago connections.

I think you did an excellent job of hiding conspiracy and covering up your corruption.
You don't crawl through a cess pool and come out spic and span smelling like a rose.
Every month or so a new slimeball arises that you were involved with but you deny close involvement. You Mr Obama are a lier and your involvement will be covered up.

Re: Fund: Obama Was Mute on Illinois Corruption
Sorry! my error. I had posted this under the wrong topic:
Obama's political history has been fraught with corruption and shady deals from its outset:
Eliminating his competitors from the State Legislature ballot, so that his would be the only candidacy in the Democratic column; cronying with the likes of William Ayers; awarding grant money to buddies; accepting campaign contributions from illegal sources; and encouraging fraudulent voter registration through his connection with ACORN -(they received $800,000 from the Obama campaign)
Despite all of this deplorable history, the media have supported, promoted and protected him. Is there any doubt that he will emerge untainted by this latest corruption scandal?

Re: Fund: Obama Was Mute on Illinois Corruption
What is the news media is not reporting is the actual facts behind Obama's connections and deep involvement with the IL Governor.
Back in 2002, Barack Obama supported Rod Blagojevich in the General election for Governor. At that time, Barack Obama was co-chairman along with Rahm Emanuel for Blagojevich, they both served as his top advisers.
And just before Obama's involvement with Blagojevich, Obama's chief advisor, David Axelrod was part of Blagojevich's Congressional campaigns but never got involved with his race for IL Governor and admitted later that he was sorry that he didn't saying that he underestimated him for that position.
So lets hear more about Barack Obama from the Liberal news media's digging deeper into the relationship and with Obama's deeper connection of being co-chair and one of the top strategists of Rod Blagojevich's 2002 gubernatorial victory, do your job and lets hear more on how close they really were, how these men met once a week to plan their campaign strategies with Blagojevich.
And to Barack Obama, Sir Walter Scott was way ahead of you when he said, "Oh what a tangled web we weave, When first we practice to deceive".

Re: Fund: Obama Was Mute on Illinois Corruption
Chicago seems to have been the hub of illegal activities pretty much all of last century, so it is not surprising that corruption and greed are almost entitlements to the Chicago political establishment.
It seems that the mafia (New York you're just as bad!) has switched from prostitution to politics. (Brings to mind Reagan's observation of the similarity between the two oldest professions.) The new dons weren't dumb; they reasoned, Hey! If you can't beat 'em, join 'em! Sure seems like the Democrats are merely a re-emergence into national life of the old mafia.

I wouldn't comment either if I were involved up to my ears in this politcal quagmire! He puts up the "off limits" sign when he tries to ignore the truth. How convenient!
I think Obama is finding it very difficult to tip toe back through the political minefield he layed down with his past associations which now are begining to crop up at every turn.

Re: Fund: Obama Was Mute on Illinois Corruption
It's just down right disouraging to see the amount of control the Liberal Democartic press has on everything "political" that comes out.
I keep noticing that any mention of Blagojevich being a "Democrat" is conviently left out.
That is holding true of any wrong committed by any Democrat in how it is reported. Republicans are identified unfailingly, and loudly every time the press deems something trivial is a "wrong". Sarah Palin can't even look across the river without some liberal press corps going after every single slant on the "current state" of anything Palin. Another "Special" on the crisis of degredation, moral decay, and lawlessness of Sarah Palin. Yesterday, she cut her toenails in full view of her children. Gasp!!
The state of the nation is its people. As go the people, so go the politicians, news control, corporate officialdom, and union bosses.

Re: Fund: Obama Was Mute on Illinois Corruption
this isn't the first nor will it be the last thing that he has either failed to acknowledge, hoped it wouldn't be dug up, hid from, tried to distance himself from or thrown someone under the bus over while trying to run like mad from his past sins!!
in fact once all or most is known and compiled he will be absolutely the worst politician ever elected to ANY office much less the presidency (and I will to my dying day believe he was handed that election not only with illegal donations but mclaim not wanting it bad enough to fight for it!), so now he still doesn't have a clue as to what this is/was all about since I really don't believe that he himself thought he stood a chance of winning, but people are really starting to dig the dirt from around him and bring every crooked connection and action to light!
