Default What would YOU do?

I posed a question in another thread but Charie thought it might be better as its own thread.

I hear many people say "over (my) cold, dead body" when the question arises about surrendering their guns. How do you (collectively addressed to all on the Forum here) think most Americans with guns would react to a call to turn them in? So many of us are "law-abiding" citizens, not comfortable with bucking authority. I can see ignoring the demand to take your guns to turn them in, but if an "officer of the law" came to your door, how would you deal with that? I am very interested to hear from others here on that topic.

As I said in the other thread:

"My gun was stolen a week after I bought it."

Good answer. I'll have to research my own state, but I wonder if gun owners are required to report lost or stolen weapons.
I really know very little about guns and the law.

Mama Cat,

I moved this thread per posting tips and hints.

Good Question!

As far as I am concerned I have Constitutional right to own a gun and would do whatever I had to to keep mine. I would of course obey the law as much as I was able to. But, if it came to someone taking it away there might be a problem. Mine got stolen too for example.

I think God would forgive me.

This is an hypothetical situation that I suspect will never happen. If it did:

I guess you can call Charie and I, "Big Liars" because that is what I would do also.

Following is a link to a video that addresses the issue of self protection and the 2nd Amendment.

at the first sign of something of this nature happening I would probably invest in some schedule 40 6 or 8" pipe with caps and some of those vapor packets needed to reduce moisture along with some of the never hardening silicon--but only use it on one end.

then after preps would bury the things along with enough ammo to do the job with each one and then scatter some nails and pieces of metal on top of the burial site. that would give them a bunch of work to do to locate the stuff!!

if a policeman would show up--What
Gun(s)???? but then again as pointed out that would be totally hypothetical. it would never be just one policeman and in fact I would believe more that it would be an entire team (squad size) and either swat or military (with the way it looks with hussein , it would probably be nato troops since I seriously doubt our own would even obey that type of order against their own) that would show up breaking doors down rather than knocking and asking.

at that time there would be trouble--at least from me because it would be "prying them from my cold dead fingers!!!" but not until AFTER the gun fight!

the thing that has to be remembered is that IF that were ever to happen, meaning the call to turn them in--one would have to make sure that NO ONE knows you still have them. if you go to clean and oil them you would have to make sure that your blinds and curtains are closed so that any nosy neighbor etc. would not be able to see you and turn you in since they were stupid enough to do so and then be mad at you for being smart enough to still be having them.

Javajoy, thanks for the excellent video. I particularly liked her last comment.

Wasn't that Chuckie smirking at her?
