Patton: More Proof The Inmates Are Running The Asylum

In the inmates-are-running-the-asylum department, too many cases are popping up to ignore them. Here are a few modest examples:

At the state capitol in Olympia, Washington, Gov. Christine Gregoire (a Democrat, of course), has approved the placement of an atheist sign for public display next to a nativity scene. The sign reads: "At this season of THE WINTER SOLSTICE, may reason prevail. There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell. There is only our natural world. Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds. Placed by the Freedom From Religion Foundation on behalf of its Washington State Members."

Tell that "hardens hearts" nonsense to the millions of Christian believers who have been martyred down through history at the hand of atheist monsters like Stalin and Mao. Personally, I wish I could get a little freedom from the unbelievers who have so totally screwed up life in America.

Scares the crap out of me that in a few years, we might be following down the same path as the UK. Maybe if Cognress, the Supreme Court, and Obama announce that the Holocaust didn't happen and thus bars it from being taught in schools, people will open their eyes a bit.

It is an interesting dilemma that we face.

I am a practicing Roman Catholic. In spite of the recent scandals in the church, I remain steadfast in my resolve to continue being a part of the church. However, where is our leadership? Why isn't the church out there demanding liberal Catholics (pro choice) such as Joe Biden and Governor Gregoire be refused a seat at the table in the church? Why are they allowed to share in Communion?

Other Christians throughout America are facing the same issue. They too see abortion as murder and these liberal leaders who purport to be Christian, leading the charge to annihilate millions of human beings every year.

The cynical answer of course is money. Churches need the funds and if the alienate millions of church goers they may relegate themselves into extinction. But what is the price?

Why do I bring this up? What is the relevance to this thread? Simple. We need to draw the proverbial line in the sand and I believe the churches need to lead the way. Families can work to centralize these themes and teach our children traditional values. But at a communal level, the various churches needs to take a stand and reinforce family values and human rights issues.

Bill O'Riley has been talking about this insulting sign, but up till now, I didn't know what it said.

My own town, in Florida, is having a "Winter Solstice" Festival instead of a Christmas Fair. I used to participate as a Craft vendor, but no more.

They are not getting my entry fee this year. If all the other vendors would do the same, they would have to change their tune, but alas, i think the almighty dollar is the One True God around HERE, and i will be the only one NOT participating on matters of principal.

Freedom "from" religion? That's already an established fact this dimwit obviously cannot understand.

No one is running around forcing people to practice any religion. This person is thirsty for "attention" by rubbing salt into the wounds of those who are minding their own business and who are wise enough to realize their exists a higher power that is in complete control of the universe and all creation.

His drawing attention to his own atheism merely demonstrates he's just another lost soul wandering around loose with a bad attitude toward those who are more intelligent in the realm of realism.

Right now the idiots on the left think they have a blank check to drag out every moth-eaten old idea that they can resurrect from the New Deal.

I hope they keep it up. I want them to seriously over-reach by not only veering to the left but taking a hard left turn.

The population of this country has become complacent, and needs to be whacked upside the head with a 2x4 to wake up and smell the socialism.

Something tells me that if we can survive the next 4 years, we won't see a democrat in the white house for a Long time.

Carter gave us Reagan, Obama will usher in a new age of conservatism as the American people reject wholesale socialism.

Yanno what? Productivity will go UP in this country if all those atheists, muslims and other people who object to Christian beliefs, would NOT take the day off that our religious holidays give them. LET them go to work (and of course get paid) and keep the economic machinery of America going.

In fact, let the muslims have their day, the Hindus theirs, and the atheists have theirs. While they celebrate their beliefs, we Christians do our part and keep going, and of course getting paid.

Stores can stay open on Christmas, being run by atheists, and other non-Christians, muslims and so on.

I remember when I lived in what was then a small town in NJ, Livingston, Jews took over on Christmas, so Christians took off, and Christians worked on Jewish holidays. Of course, that was in the good old days, where in class rooms, we had a Christmas tree, and draedels, and on SAINT Valentine's Day, we all exchanged Valentines. WHY? 'Cuz we were ALL taught that SAINT Valentine epitomized LOVE of EVERYONE, Christians and non-Christians alike.

It's fun to watch the idiots, but it is also tragic. These nut cases that control actions in our nation could accomplish some great harm. However, as a whole the American public is a good lot, the majority of us believe that God is our real leader. Satan moves in many ways and entices many towards his misdeeds, this is why certain things are swayed in his direction. Little by little he has been able to undermine good principles via our leaders and our courts. Are these bad people? No, they are being influenced by evil and swayed away from the truth an ounce at a time.

We are witnessing, at this time, a great awakening in this county by the youth. Their hunger for the truth of the Lord is becoming more and more apparent. It will be them that will take charge and clear the temple of the money changers (our misguided leaders). This will be a time when American will become proud of who and what they are again.
