Reagan: Christmas Is Not A Holiday -- It's A Birthday
By Michael Reagan
December 4, 2008
Christmas is once again upon us, and we can expect to witness countless new displays of the rampant secularization of what is meant to be a joyous celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Frankly I'm fed up with seeing federal, state and local governments, local and nationwide chain stores, and even the White House -- which last year couldn't call their Christmas Party a Christmas party -- all of them giving in to the intimidation of a handful of secular progressives who loathe Christianity and any celebration associated with it.

Re: Reagan: Christmas Is Not A Holiday -- It's A Birthday
Sure, say "Merry Christmas!" to everyone you meet Don't be afraid to admit that you are a Christian. If you are, and you deny Christ, then He will deny you. Oops! But if you find out that the person you are greeting is NOT Christian, then be prepared to add the apropriate greeting to it. Happy Chanukah! or Happy Kwanza! Telling someone Merry Christmas is not implying that they are Christians, only that you are. Jesus said love everyone and treat them kindly. Christmas is a season of love.

Amen Michael: The sign on my shop door with my holiday business hours says that I will be closed "to celebrate Jesus' birth". So far no one has said anything, and if they do, that is their problem...because that sign is MY belief.

Re: Reagan: Christmas Is Not A Holiday -- It's A Birthday
Reagan said it best. What organized atheists are trying to do is to stop Christians from practicing their religion. We do not force them into a church, baptize them or force them to take the sacraments. By the same token they do not have the right to force us underground and hide our religion!
If someone says, "Merry Christmas" to them they have the right to ignore it or say, "Bah! Humbug!". No problem. But they try to make us ignore and denigrate our sacred holy days. This is totally unacceptable.

Go Michael. I agree with him that we should stop buying at stores that don't acknowledge Jesus's birth. Maybe when they really get hit in the pocketbook they will see the errors of their ways. "Bah Humbug" to those who are trying to take Christ out of Christmas!

Hey, Michael is onto something here. He is thinking outside the box, like the radical libs do. We celebrate the birthday of Christ. How can they complain about that when we also celebrate the birhdays of presidents and MLK? Maybe whatever court cases come up on this issue need to be approached from this perspective. That's how the libs do it!

and MERRY CHRISTMAS to you Michael Reagan and to all who read this missive, I wish you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS, along with a SPECIAL LITTLE NOTE (Happy Birthday, dear One) to the Christ Child, in whom this holdiday has its origins, and a Happy New Year.... especially if I don't post between now and then. but I probably will, so at the proper time I will wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year all over again.

Re: Reagan: Christmas Is Not A Holiday -- It's A Birthday
I hope I can speak for the majority when I say that I'm really getting tired of having to defend every little thing that has made my country a great country and all of it's traditions to people who don't agree.
So, I say, this is the United States of America; if those who don't like our way of life and our traditions, which don't interfere with the freedoms of others, gather your belongings, your anti-American attitude, and get the hell out of my country!
You don't deserve to live here and you certainly don't qualify to enjoy the freedoms we love that you seem to reject as worthless.
Go over to some other country and haunt them with your precious personality.
It's the American Way or the highway! Get lost!

Re: Reagan: Christmas Is Not A Holiday -- It's A Birthday
I have been saying Merry Christmas to all I meet during the season for the last few years, even when they say "Happy Holidays." When I shop, if a store has Happy Holiday signage, but not Merry Christmas, I mention it and often, ask to speak to the manager about it to voice my displeasure.
If we don't speak out, our religion will be run underground by a minority of malcontents. It's up to us to speak out.

I blame this on all the PC garbage. And for the PC garbage I blame on all the lawyers. To many people and companies are afraid of being sued so they go along with this (to put it kindly) stuff. More people need to send a message to all the PC idiots get over it and move on. The majority of us are tired of it and aren't going to put up with it any more.
