Bozell: Barbara Walters Falters
By Brent Bozell
December 3, 2008
On the night before Thanksgiving, just an hour after Rosie O'Donnell had publicly belly-flopped with a horrible attempt at an old-time variety show on NBC, Barbara Walters made a fool of herself interviewing Barack and Michelle Obama. The toughest questions dealt with whether there was enough "change" in his cabinet picks, and whether he was "waffling" on tax hikes for the rich -- questions his (and ABC's) liberal base would enjoy.
Let's go back eight years. On the Friday before the Inauguration, Walters interviewed then-President-elect George Bush and his wife Laura. But it was only one part of a routine "20/20" hour, and she brought harsh questions to carve up Attorney General nominee John Ashcroft as a divisive disaster.

Re: Bozell: Barbara Walters Falters
The answer is simple - Walters is a real waste of time, overpriced, overpaid and underqualified.

Re: Bozell: Barbara Walters Falters
Give me a break, she is so phoney. She has interviewed some highly respected people but Obama is not one of them. They are phonies. She makes me sick and so does the Obama's and to think we have to hear and see them for the next four years - yuck.

Where has Barbara been living? Under a rock somewhere? Her sugary interview was enough to give a diabetic a coma!

Re: Bozell: Barbara Walters Falters
the worhips makes one want to hurl. i just saw a tv add for an 'Obama' coin. i watched in amazement at the gushy discription of Obama. it was stupid and insulting to any thinking person but i realize they will sell millions to his sheeple. sickening.
Walter's had destroyed any cred she use to have. i won't ever watch her again.

Re: Bozell: Barbara Walters Falters
The real issue here is not whether or not Walters is in the tank for the Obamas. She has been since day 1. The real issue is that she calls herself a journalist.
The problem in the media is we have lost all journalism standards. Opinion is injected into almost every article. The arrogance of the media shows at every level. Their elitism has them believing that we are all ignorant and need to come around to THEIR point of view.
That is indeed the tragedy here. Walters is a hack who cannot stay neutral. Calling herself a journalist is dishonest. She is a liar - pure and simple.

Re: Bozell: Barbara Walters Falters
I haven't watched Barbara in YEARS. At 84, she should be playing with grandchildren, pets and be retired.
If she has neither grandchildren nor pets, she and Helen Thomas should be off together shopping and laying around on a beach in Miami, ogling the good lookin' boys and reminiscing about their glorious pasts.
Just fade away, please?

Re: Bozell: Barbara Walters Falters
This moronic attempt by a washed-up has-been to perpetuate the mystic properties of an Obama was more than lame.
It has thoroughly convinced me that it is not Obama we really need to fear now or in the future. It is the utter lack of integrity by the media. To revel in their success the media now has to be thinking about what they can do next to "create" their own vision of how this country should be run.
After all, Obama is going to be easy to figure out as are all previous Chicago thug politicians. It is the unscrupulous liberal media that one should really fear.
All we need now is for Billy Mays to jump back into our living rooms, via the TV, and sell us the "magic Obama coin".
Note to Barbara: I understand retirement isn't all that bad.

Re: Bozell: Barbara Walters Falters
As if it weren't bad enough to have to endure all the political ads BEFORE the election, we are now having these gushing tidbits of trash shoved down our throats too.
I don't know about anyone else, but just in case I can't change the station fast enough, I have my wastebasket handy and a 4 year supply of plastic liners . . . . I pray I don't have to bring in another 4 year's supply.

Re: Bozell: Barbara Walters Falters
Barbara defines herself by her job. As she told The New York Times in 1996: "I'm convinced that you stay married when the days are bad, only because you really want to be. But I always had an out. I had this job, and this life and enough money. I didn't have to fight the bad days."
She has been married and divorced 3 times. I do not believe she has children. She has nothing else in her life other than perpetuating her lifestyle and going to her elitist parties where she is fawned over.
Honestly, I pity the woman.
