Default Brown: Obama Priority Is To Remake America

By Floyd and Mary Beth Brown
November 22, 2008

Early personnel appointments show that President-elect Barack Obama's policy team is more interested in remaking America's social policy than changing foreign policy or improving the ethical standard in our nation's capital.

Obama's policy teams appear comfortable keeping the Bush foreign policy intact, but the President-elect is hiring people who are committed to remaking domestic policy by vastly expanding the scope of federal power.

As a case in point, Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle as Obama's choice for Secretary of Health and Human Services is very telling. Obama strategists wanted a legislative veteran in this job because they are planning an almost immediate push for socialized medicine. Expect early-on maneuvers supporting universal-coverage mandates for business and new healthcare entitlements for lower-income Americans.

It's the old velvet glove during the campaign and the Iron Fist once you get elected Communist Trick. Welcome to Obamanista land.
The stupid voters who voted for the Marxist-Socialist scum of the Democrat/Socialist/peoples Party from the Presidend right down to Dog Catcher are going to get precisely what they deserve. When the Iron Fist smashes into their skulls a couple of times their feeble brains will comprehend that you don't give up freedoms for security.

We're definitely in for a rough ride ahead. Funny thing is the people that were so enamoured with Obama and his promises that they voted for him are likely to suffer the worst because they ask government for the most.

I'm already hearing that people are calling doctor's offices wanting to know when they can sign up for that "free" government health insurance.

Someone needs to remind these people that the government that can "give" you everything can also "take" everything away.

Did any thinking person truly expect anything different from Comrade Hussein?

What's left unsaid in this column is that the Dems wish to virtually nationalize key sectors of the US economy and that's where the real danger lies. There will be at least two additional bailouts of the auto industry, by which time, DC will have controlling interest in all of the Big Three.

Once our health care system is basically nationalized, can anyone figure out how we'd get rid of subsidized or mandatory health insurance even after a sane government is back in charge? The GOP couldn't do anything about Social Security in the 50s or the 90s when they had large majorities.

If Comrade Hussein tries to increase gas taxes to get the price back up to $4/gal, as he's said he'd prefer, there'll be a great howl.

The only thing we can hope for is that raising various taxes to pay for all of this largesse is so unthinkable at this time, the Dems won't dare try to implement many or most of them. A whole bunch of them are up for reelection in less than two years. Our Founders were so prescient in setting two year terms in order to keep the clowns on their toes.

Based on early personnel choices, it looks like a President Obama will keep the Bush foreign policy, turn to Washington insiders despite their checkered pasts, and push ahead with a radical social agenda that was largely off the radar during the campaign.

Jesus said in Matt. 9:17: "Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins..." I guess He did not know Obama too well, for that is exactly what Obama is doing. Obama is dragging up these old wineskins from the Clinton era and trying to pour new wine into them. As the passage goes on to say: "the skins will burst, the wine will run out..."

This administration will be a total failure for America, and the American citizen will be the victim...even those whom voted for Obama.

Obama and ethics, what a sick joke that is! For a "man" who knew the only way he could win an election was to run off his competitor from the ballot, that proves he is with out any ethics. I understand he used the tried and true approved by the Communist Party tactics. Discredit your oppponent , or be the only name on the ballot. So if only a few hundres people vote for you and you have no opposition you win.

I have absolutely no confidence that he will "govern from the center" but will be a tyrant from day one! Obama will make Bill Clinton look like a "saint" and in the mid term election I expect the Democrats to be ripped to shreads in the house. I also believe they will lose at least 6 seats in the Senate.

Obama will try to destroy "Conserative Talk Radio", but hopefully, the courts will over turn "the fairness docterine" as unconstititional. For over 20 years talk radio has been the voice of the "Silent Majority", so any attempt to abridge our rights will result in a slaughter of Democrats in the next sets of elections.

We're all going to have to be on our toes and fight back on the most radical, American changing policies he tries to pass. We don't have any other choice right now.

We've also got to get involved and try to get as many conservatives elected in 2010 as we possibly can. That's the only hope we have of holding the line on the worst of his changes.

Obama is not even in office yet and his dog and pony campaign promises are disappearing faster than a snowball on a hot stove.

Immigration wide open, taxes going up, releasing terrorists, open dialog with the enemy, gun control, government controlled health care, amnesty, and many more we don't know about yet.

Communism is alive and well as we see our "leaders" past and present adopting the very principals that lead down the path of destruction and freedom we use to have.

Yessir! America is on the remake. No more free interprise... just government bailout if you can get it. Those who voted for this mess are already running around with a big question mark on their foreheads.

When they finally wake up and see they have been betrayed it'll be a little too late. They will be busy pulling the knife outta their backs.

Refreshing isn't it? Obama's world! Change you can count on!

what is it with perfectly sane folk, when other people do not agree with them or perceive an issue the same way? These "perfectly sane people" result to thiinking or "knowing" that the opposing side is communist. So called conservative thinkers not philosophers like the great George Will not only think on a base, fundemental level, but refuse to acknowledge that the opposing side may have some validity to their views. People who are calling their health care providers and asking when will the free health care kick in , are simple minded folk. The same type of people who actually thought that Sarah Palin would be an excellent person a heart beat away from the presidency.

Has anyone noticed that many of the same people that actually controlled the failure of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are now the top officials in Obama's administration? Jamie Gouerlich, Rahm Emmanuel et al. And the former head of Harvard Mr. Summers is going to get a key position. I wonder if he had anything to do with withholding any papers or records of Obama from when he was a student at Harvard. It seems like it is pay back time for many of his new appointee's.
