Opponents of gun violence back Obama for president

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Barack Obama and Joe Biden won the endorsement Monday of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.

The group is named after Jim Brady, the press secretary to former President Reagan, who was gravely wounded by a gunman who tried to assassinate Reagan in 1981.

Paul Helmke, the organization's president, said Obama and Biden would strengthen background checks on gun purchasers, get assault weapons off the streets and give law enforcement more tools to stop illegal gun trafficking.

"The Obama-Biden ticket will work with law enforcement, gun violence victims and ordinary citizens who want to do more to protect themselves, their families and their communities by making it harder for dangerous people to get dangerous weapons," Helmke said in a written statement.

If you are amoung the American Gun Nuts, you better hope and pray that BO and Biden don't get into office. A look at BOs record on firearms and his statements would let even the dumbest amoung us know what his intentions are. Slowly but surely they will take away all of your guns a la Australia and England - they would be following the desires of the UN. As an Illinois state lawmaker, Obama supported a ban on all forms of semiautomatic weapons and tighter state restrictions generally on firearms.

People who are registered with their state as gun owners should wonder just what database their names are going to end up on under an Obama administration.

Naturally, we are all against gun violence except the criminals and terrorists. Of course, Criminals and terrorists should not be allowed to own or use guns but they will not obey gun laws. Therefore, the only way to help to stop gun violence would be to have the law abiidng potential innocent victims be armed and trained in the art of self protection. This can only be accomplished by Federal Concealed Weapons Laws whereas all states honor other states rukles and concealed weapons permits or have Federal licenses. This would be the only way the Killling Fields of California can be controlled.

Obama bin Biden and his ilk have their collective heads in the sand. Taking weapons away from honest gun owners is not the answer. The answer is to enforce gun laws on the books, shut down the supply line for illegal guns (just like the government shuts down the supply line for illegal drugs ha,ha), and severe prision time for criminals who commit crimes with guns. Criminals, gangs, and terrorist will always have guns, so why are honest American citizens punished for owning firearms? In England the answer to gun violence is to learn first aid and CPR to aid a gun shot victim, not the ability of the people to protect themselves from criminals,gangs, and terrorist who carry guns. Wake up America, before we lose our rights to own and carry a gun, according to state law. What has happened to states rights? If Obama bin Biden has his way, state rights will no longer exist.
