A Debate 'Moderator' in the Tank for Obama
By Michelle Malkin
October 1, 2008
My dictionary defines "moderator" as "the nonpartisan presiding officer of a town meeting." On Thursday, PBS anchor Gwen Ifill will serve as moderator for the first and only vice presidential debate. The stakes are high. The Commission on Presidential Debates, with the assent of the two campaigns, decided not to impose any guidelines on her duties or questions.
But there is nothing "moderate" about where Ifill stands on Barack Obama. She's so far in the tank for the Democratic presidential candidate, her oxygen delivery line is running out.

Re: A Debate 'Moderator' in the Tank for Obama
why does our side allow its self to keep getting ambushed by left leaning debate moderators?
why are'nt the moderators chosen by mutual agreement?

Re: A Debate 'Moderator' in the Tank for Obama
Anyone who doesn't already know that the choices for "moderators" in political "debates" are usually the most leftist partisans of those in media either has their head in the sand or are truly stupid. I won't even give them credit for being ignorant, that would be truly stupid.
Frankly, I don't know why anyone wastes their time on these spurious "dog and pony" shows. There are abundant sources of information available without watching these minutely managed (and biased) public spectacles. In the aftermath we can expect a tidal wave of Palin bashing and you can take that to the bank!

Re: A Debate 'Moderator' in the Tank for Obama
Wouldn't it be great if, upon making opening remarks, Gov. Palin acknowledged the accomplishments of this "unbiased" moderator and congratulated her on her soon to be released new book on the life and times of a typical Chicago thug politician ... I mean the life and times of Obama?
We've all seen this in various forums; Thanking the promoters for the opportunities, yadda, yadda, yadda. I am probably only dreaming, but it could happen. (Actually it should happen.)

Re: A Debate 'Moderator' in the Tank for Obama
Had Gwen Ifill begun writing her book at the time she was chosen to "moderate?" If so, why didn't the Republicans object?
This is like Americans rising up to demand Bush not go to Beijing 3 or 4 years after China had been awarded the Olympics.
Democrats plan SO far ahead ... from 1995 for BHO to be their candidate of change to socialism ... and Republicans seem to pick up on the threat much later.
Probably because we're all at work.

Oh yes, I'll just put my name on the dotted line for a copy of this magnificent work of bias! Gee whiz, I didn't see anyone interviewed who had any relation to conservative Republicans. Don't talk to me about Colin Powell.
Jesse Jackson? Whatever happened to Lynn Swann? Michael Steele? Bobby Jindal? Whoops! That's right, he's a Republican of a different color!
If McCain agreed to have her moderate I think he'd better get his head on straight pretty soon, because they're going to hand it to him and not on a pretty platter, either.
