Reagan: Welcome Back, Dad
By Michael Reagan
September 5, 2008
I've been trying to convince my fellow conservatives that they have been wasting their time in a fruitless quest for a new Ronald Reagan to emerge and lead our party and our nation. I insisted that we'd never see his like again because he was one of a kind.
I was wrong!
Wednesday night I watched the Republican National Convention on television and there, before my very eyes, I saw my Dad reborn; only this time he's a she.
And what a she!

In a few words she managed to rip the mask from the faces of her Democratic rivals and reveal them for what they are -- a pair of old-fashioned liberals making promises that cannot be kept without bankrupting the nation and reducing most Americans to the status of mendicants begging for their daily bread at the feet of an all-powerful government.

Well said!
I've heard Sarah Palin compared to Reagan several times by several different pundits over the past few days. Maybe she has done what would only sound trite and a tired repetition coming from a known party leader.
You go girl!

Re: Reagan: Welcome Back, Dad
Sarah is quickly filling that void in our party.
I join Michael in welcoming back "Mr President".

Wow, that's high praise, indeed, coming from Michael Reagan.
Now I understand why the liberal pundits looked so shocked. They had seen a ghost!

Re: Reagan: Welcome Back, Dad
I was so unhappy with the choice of McCain. I think he is a great man and has his country at heart but I longed for the days of Ronaldus Maximus! While watching Sarah Palin's speech on Wednesday I had tears in my eyes. I found myself being transported back to August of 1980 when as an 18 year old I listened to Ronald Reagan speak at the GOP Convention. I had chills listening to Sarah Palin! Not only is she a conservative but she is a woman! How exciting for a hard core conservative like me. Several times I shouted "OMG she's like Reagan." She even has some of his mannerisms! I love her and I now have hope for the Republican party once again. I was sure McCain would be a flash in the pan if he could squeak out a win at all....he is no Reagan. But Sarah Palin? Now there is another story. SHE IS ALOT LIKE RONALD REAGAN. While there will never be another Ronald Reagan she is running a close second. She's walking in his tracks and I just have a sneaking suspicion that she can fill his shoes. GO SARAH!
I can't wait to vote for the Republican Ticket in Nov and I fully expect that in about 8 years Sarah Palin will be elected the first Female President of the USA. My husband, my children, and I can't wait!!!

Re: Reagan: Welcome Back, Dad
Thank you sir for the wonderful endorsement , I know that kind of endorsement is not given freely unless someone really deserves it. I don't think you will be disappointed at all, she has what it takes to be a great leader and we are ready for a woman to be Vice president and also president some day . That was the kindest statement any one could make thank you for that , I felt she was somewhat like Reagan .
