Default Biden is Democratic favorite for Obama's No. 2

By NEDRA PICKLER
Associated Press
August 21, 2008

CHICAGO (AP) -- Sen. Joe Biden has emerged as the favorite among Democrats to be Barack Obama's running mate for his understanding of foreign policy in grave global times and his fighting spirit against the rival Republican ticket.

Obama is keeping his decision quiet, but his staff in Chicago and party activists who await a decision are buzzing about Biden in large part because he can address two of Obama's biggest weaknesses -- his lack of experience, especially on world affairs, and his reluctance to go on the attack. The speculation is less of an indicator of whether Biden will ultimately be Obama's pick, and more of a recognition of the challenges their candidate faces at this pivotal moment in the race.

Obama plans to appear with his newly selected running mate Saturday, with the pick announced via text message to supporters. Obama also is widely thought to be considering Govs. Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas and Tim Kaine of Virginia, and Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana.

Truly the mind set of our Congress Elites.
"I never had a boss". Well it's time to show "Caustic Joe" and the other bosses who in reality is the boss.

The last sentence in the very first paragraph caught my eye. "and his fighting spirit against the rival Republican ticket" When did the two parties become "Rivals?" My mistaken impression was that both were supposed to govern, not whine about each other. This is just further proof why we need a viable third party in this country. It seems the Demos cannot do anything with out permission from Madam Pelosi. Republicans don't seem very much better. And we are supposed to "Hold our noses" and vote Republican?" When pigs fly! That's the sort of thinking that is sinking us, right now. Until we show the Republican Party that they do not think for us, things will remain status quo.

He has never had a boss? Isn't this supposed to be government of the people, by the people, and for the people? Aren't the people supposed to be his boss? Doesn't he understand such basic Constitutional principles?:moonbat1 :

No, he doesn't think he has a boss, and Jelli,if that is the way you feel, don't vote. Now to biden. He can smile them to death, like he does in every hearing he has. He really likes to show off those pretty white teeth. I can;t tell if they are real or not.But if osama wants him, it will at least get him out of the Senate.

That isn't saying much. Someone who's deaf, blind, and with an IQ of 45 would make a better President than the Liberal Messiah.

Biden is a great choice for Barry...... truly an intellectual giant! What a contrast the two of them will make. Does anyone recall the idiotic comments Biden made in South Carolina in 2006

"Delaware, he noted, was a slave state that fought beside the North. That's only because we couldn't figure out how to get to the South. There were a couple of states in the way.

As much as I dislike Biden, I have too agree with you Pete. I would even say he would have been better than Hillary , Edwards or "Yoda" Kucinich .
