Default How Democrats Honor The Troops

By Scott Swett
August 19, 2008

The Democrats recently announced the theme for the day that Sen. Barack Obama's running mate will speak at the Democratic National Convention in Denver -- "national security and honoring veterans." This may well provide a hint about who the vice-presidential selection will be, as it seems unlikely that such a theme would be used to frame a nominee who, like Sen. Obama, has no military experience.

Before speculating about the most likely candidate, let's take a few moments to review ways in which the Democratic Party has gone about "honoring" the US military in the past.

One at a time these insults are annoying. Strung together they make the anger in the pit of ones stomach burn. Traitor is too kind a work for these scalawags. To borrow from Husain Obama forgiveness "is above my pay grade"

Oh, I disagree! I can forgive them......

for being cowards; for being scared little boys afraid of monsters-in-the-closet and bears-under-the-bed; for being the kids who piss their pants when someone hollers "boo!".

What I can't and won't forgive them for is presuming that they have the 'hormones' necessary to run this country!

Our favorite family laugh is when the subject of 9/11 comes up: one of us will say, "It's a darn-good thing Mr. B. was President that day...", and the others all chime in with, " 'the other guy' would have been hiding in the kneehole in the desk, sucking his thumb, and waving his dripping 'tighty-whiteys" in surrender!"

'Tain't no joke, friends!
