Formed On The Anvil Of His Captivity
By Tony Blankley
July 2, 2008
As of today, Sen. Barack Obama is about halfway through his "patriotism theme week" message cycle. As of 2008, Sen. John McCain is about seven-ninths through his patriotism theme life cycle. I guess that is the difference between the new politics and the old patriotism.
The Obama campaign launched its new politics patriotism week last Sunday, with retired Gen. Wes "Speichellecker" Clark smearing John McCain's war record -- even to the point of the former general saying that "riding" in a fighter plane and getting shot down are not qualifications for being president. Well, in fact, McCain wasn't riding, of course. He was the pilot in his 23rd mission over heavily defended enemy territory when he was shot down by a Soviet missile. But when Wes "Camera Hound" Clark goes on a mission, he always aims low.

Re: Formed On The Anvil Of His Captivity
Probably most of the folks already know that Wes Clark is a bitter ex-General who subconciously realizes his own lack of value and contribution to world events, hence, he attacks those who contribute. Nontheless, the emanations from Obama's friends are not rubbing off on Obama. The emphasis needs to be on Obama's socialistic and otherwise radical tendencies, particularly his avoidance of realistic and vigorous measures to find and use more fossil fuel as a required stopgap effort while advancing additional energy technologies.

Re: Formed On The Anvil Of His Captivity
Just the fact that Obama is the choice of the libs to be Commander-in-Chief is a testament to their disdain for the military. They say that they support the troops, but are willing to elect a C-in-C who has NO experience at all. Last time they were willing to elect an admitted war criminal. YIKES!!! I served in the Navy when President Carter was C-in-C and I can tell you first hand that we had very little respect for the man which made it quite difficult to respect the office. Is it any wonder that the country does not trust these bozo's to protect us.

Re: That Mc Cains POW time does not qualify him to be president is a given factor. My chief concern now is his past history of pushing for amnesty and a pathway to citizenship which the majority of people are totally against, and the lack of concern on his part about the Invasion of the USA right here and now of illegals.
Why is he on his way to Colombia to work on trade agreements with them?, do we need more drugs here?, isn't the amount they send here illegally enough?
Then he's stopping in Mexico on his way back, WHY? Trade? Don't we have enough problems with Mexico what with the illegals coming over the border and the smuggling of drugs. The people don't want open borders or Nafta or Cafta or any roads encroaching on our soil for foreign trucks to travel freely on! What is with Mc Cain? convince us why we should vote for you! without your war record! your past record of how to treat illegals is wanting tremendously! A very concerned CITIZEN!

Clark wasn't much of a military man. He's proving to be not much as a politician. His stock in trade is, and always has been, smoothness. I don't think that's going to do him much good given the seriousness and importance of the current political exercise.

Re: Formed On The Anvil Of His Captivity
A great discussion of the losers Wes Clark and Obama. Wish John McCain would defend our borders and internal affairs like the fighter pilot he once was. But now he seems intent upon giving America away. His third attempt at defining his position on controlling illegal immigration puts him back pledging to the Latinos that he will resurrect his stinking Amnesty Bill. This after he said he had heard the voice of the citizens and had "learned his lesson".

Obama is beginning to reveal Nixonian political instincts.

Nixon was never as crude, publicly, as Hussein and his henchmen and he never would have insinuated that being a POW for 5 years was somehow 'slacking off'.
This is typical Dem stuff. They have no morals or principles and are motivated only by their lust for power and maintaining it once achieved. There's no low they won't stoop to and GOP office-holders or wannabes need to slam back whenever these tactics are employed. We Republicans are sick and tired of hearing our leaders telling us that they're above the fray. Look at the mess W is in because he has seldom responded to the most scurrilous accusations.
And YES I DO question the patriotism of any Dem (with the exception of Zell Miller).

Of course, after 24 hours, Obama disassociated himself from his surrogate's smear attack. This is becoming a pattern of Obama's new politics. Wes Clark is the seventh prominent Obama supporter to disparage Sen. McCain's military service. Obama is beginning to reveal Nixonian political instincts.

We just thought Hussein Obama was throwing Clark under the bus. He didn't even move him to the Back. He made him the Bus driver instead. Anybody that thinks the Muslim isn't condoning this slander is an Idiot.
These attacks coming from Idiots that bowed down to kiss Kerry's rear end and Proclaimed him fit to be CIC because of 3 months steering a Swiftboat but not McCain's years of "Flying" a Jet fighter. Shucks, Give me 30 minutes and I could steer that boat but the Fighter would be different.

Re: Formed On The Anvil Of His Captivity
If a captured soldier has time sensitive information he should resist as long as he can from divulging them. Beyond that, soldiers should be allowed to say anything and admit to anything their captors ask them to. The public and the world should be made aware of this policy thereby making any statements by our captured soldiers useless as a political tool.
