The ACORN Obama Knows

If you don't know what ACORN (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) is all about, you better bone up. This left-wing group takes in 40 percent of its revenues from American taxpayers -- you and me -- and has leveraged nearly four decades of government subsidies to fund affiliates that promote the welfare state and undermine capitalism and self-reliance, some of which have been implicated in perpetuating illegal immigration and encouraging voter fraud. A new whistleblower report from the Consumer Rights League claims that Chicago-based ACORN has commingled public tax dollars with political projects.

Who in Washington will fight to ensure that your money isn't being spent on these radical activities?

Barack Obama, ACORN's senator, is for more of the same old, same old subsidizing of far-left politics in the name of fighting for the poor while enriching ideological cronies. It's the Chicago way.

It's actually the Democrat way. They have no morals and will stoop to anything in order to grasp and maintain the reins of power - all in the name of 'helping the people' that they plan to fleece.

WOW! I knew that Obama had worked for local activist groups, but I did not realize his association was with ACORN. ACORN is one of the worst of the worst. ACORN seems to be against economic and industrial progress everywhere. Please widely distribute his association with ACORN.

I’m serious. I think folks would run toward an intelligent conservative like you!

I was not aware of the history of ACORN, or the fact that they were more widespread in the country. I came to hear about them following Hurricane Katrina, when the evacuees invaded our part of the country (Houston area). Very nearly 3 years later, the “evacuees” are STILL in need of living assistance!!! ACORN is always present, explaining how things aren’t fair, and they need more money.

What a load! If you don’t have a new life, a new home, and most importantly …a new job by now, you deserve anything you get.

Ok …I’m getting off on a tangent. But, the lack of self reliance among some people is absolutely incredible. Yes, a true disaster occurred in their lives. Yes, we opened our arms to help. And, yes, they’ve now become an over-stayed and unwelcome mooch.

Now, this article tells me they are also involved in voter fraud. Makes sense. As you say, they have to make sure their pipeline remains open. You would think I would at least get a Christmas card ...but, I guess that would be too intolerably religious.

Is there any chance of turning this country around? Apparently this group, and others like them, did nothing but flourish even under a Republican rule just a few short years ago. If the GOP couldn’t clean up the house, what are our real chances of ever making headway?

We desperatly need a new party ...but, there doesn't seem to be any gap in "catastrophes" to allow that to happen. Kinda makes you go hmmmm.... Nevertheless, I'm certainly not going to vote in Obama by default, by using my dissatisfaction to sit home or vote for any of the currently unelectable third parties.

I can only hope that they find this group guilty and run them out of dodge and quit paying them any thing what so ever . So many nails and so few coffins to drive them in you would think Obama's political coffin would be saturated with nails by now, but new ones come up every day and he has the following he has ? it is mind boggling to think people are for him in any capacity of government at all. this group should be deported for un-American activities . the funds should be cut off until they are investigated firmly and thoroughly. What next Michelle , keep digging and you will find more and more .

This little ACORN, if not obliterated, will grow into a giant oak of distruction; an organization to destroy the will of being a productive society.

And good ole Obama is associated with this one also. Well, that one added on top of everything else we're finding out about this candidate, should be more than enough evidence to sink Obama to the bottom.

It will be interesting to see what's next.

You are right, we need something Slenard, preferably high, hot and a hellava lot - but it will NEVER happening under an Obama or McCain administration. It's disheartening!

Another strong supporter of Obama in his early political career was Madeline Talbott, lead organizer of the ACORN community activist organization. From what I have been able to determine, Obama taught classes to "future leaders identified by ACORN" at the Centers for New Horizons on Chicago's south side (around 1995 -- Leadership Development????).

Wow! Obama just seems to become more interesting with every turn... Or perhaps less interesting, since he is just stuck on his party's plans of keeping things the way they are... Although with Obama, I am thinking he would make things worse. The whole thing with ACORN is just an example.

We definitely need someone who will create MAJOR change, for the better, in this country. It seems that there are plenty of candidates out there in the political analysis field, people who are educated, who know what they are talking about, who know the game of politics, and who would probably make really amazing presidents, but they do not want to get involved in the mess of political campaigns, the mud-slinging is horrendous. I totally do not blame them, running for president is a daunting task, one that only those who are exceptionally strong of mind and morals can undertake, that or incredibly hollow. I sympathize with these people who are somewhat afraid to take the leap, but we need a GREAT president and we need one NOW! Dive in!

Michelle, great article as usual. I have always suspected that Democrats, especially liberals, cannot compete fairly for votes. It seems that most voter fraud is committed by them. We conservatives must fight to remain aware, but this is difficult to do, since the left uses so much subterfuge; Slimy, rotten, feline, conniving, opportunistic, dumbing-down, freedom-hating, Marx-Lenin-Stalin-loving, wealth-redistributing, Christian-hating, war-surrendering, putrescent, bunch of poop-heads.
