America Embraces Energy Independence
By Carol Devine-Molin
June 19, 2008
Most Americans understand that we need to make a concerted national effort to end our dependency on expensive foreign oil, and that the process must begin immediately. A recent Rasmussen poll indicates that 67 percent of the American public is in favor of offshore oil drilling, with only 18 percent against it, and 15 percent undecided. Amazingly, even 46 percent of "liberals" support offshore drilling, which is a testament to the level of desperation that Americans are experiencing across the working and middle class spectrums. Simply put, in these challenging economic times, Americans want affordable energy that we, as a nation, can produce and control from its inception. There's nothing complicated here. But are America's elected officials listening to the unwashed masses?
Let's start with the fact that one of the major tragedies of this generation is our feckless political class that has failed to provide proper leadership on many fronts, including economic and energy issues.

Re: America Embraces Energy Independence
I look for a ousting of the democrats from office if they continue on their path of destroying what we have left of an economy , it makes sense to me as the republicans were also ousted in 06 for failing to represent us in the house ,it will happen to the democrats if they don't take action and let them start drilling now. I for one have been looking at who votes for what in my choices for the house ,we only have one and if he will expand on his idea of drilling now he will win the election for president, as the democrat running is wanting the price to go up not down . yes more taxes and higher gas prices is a sure bet to get you elected. ??? not

Re: America Embraces Energy Independence
In a year when big GOP losses are predicted, the Republicans have just gained possession of the ball and they better run with it. With the number of people now favoring more drilling, this is a very winning issue.

Re: America Embraces Energy Independence
The other thing that this article did NOT mention was that the Democrats... er, SOCIALISTS want to have the Oil leases confiscated and turned over to the Government as well. The video of that Rep (can't remember her name) when she stumbed and tried to cover up her thoughts about a Gov takeover and she even mentioned Socialist in the trip-up. Boy, if that doesn't wake people up to the motives of those would be "saviors" and people who "hope" and want to "change" us for their betterment, betterment to what????
Gotta get the word out to everyone and show them what the darling democrats have in store for us, or we will not have a country anymore, VOTE MCCAIN, no matter what.
DRILL HERE.....DRILL NOW, not tomorrow, not next month, not next yeaer, starting NOW!!!!!

It's about time. It should have been about 25 to 35 years ago.
I wish President Bush would sign an Executive Order to begin "DRILL HERE.....DRILL NOW", effective TONIGHT.

Re: America Embraces Energy Independence
My webpage www.byronwine.com, in #13-V, has videos of seven automobiles fueled with water, they use no gasoline. Two videos show water fueled automobiles on the street in Japan.
Does our government expect people to believe we can send a probe more than 400 million miles, land safely and dig in the soil, yet can not duplicate Japanese technology?
Why not drill member of congess responsible for a failed energy policy out of congress?

I've had enough of the carters, clintons, and most assuredly the obamas.
