FORUM POLL: Give us your opinion on domestic oil drilling
By Susan Jones
CNSNews.com Senior Editor
June 09, 2008
(CNSNews.com) - "The United States has an opportunity to help increase the supply of oil on the market," thereby easing gasoline prices for hard-working Americans," President Bush said on Monday.
He reminded Congress that he has proposed opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the Continental Shelf to domestic oil drilling -- something that would "help us through this difficult period."
Citing concerns about the environment, the Democrat-led Congress has so far refused to go along with domestic oil drilling.

Re: FORUM POLL: Give us your opinion on domestic oil drilling
A no-brainer. Where there's oil - drill. And here's what folk nationwide are saying:
Voters Say 'Drill'
By Lawrence Kudlow
The recent spike in oil prices and unemployment is dramatically changing this presidential campaign -- virtually overnight. The near $20 jump in oil to $140 a barrel, the unexpected half-point increase in the jobless rate to 5.5 percent (the biggest monthly increase in twenty years), and the resulting 400-point plunge in stocks has created a new campaign issue right before our eyes.
Public worry number one is now oil, jobs, and the economy, with the inflationary woes of the U.S. dollar right underneath. The candidate who can connect with these issues will win in November. But so far neither Obama nor McCain are dealing with the new political reality.
In fact, it's all about oil right now. The price has doubled over the past year while the economy has slumped.

Re: FORUM POLL: Give us your opinion on domestic oil drilling
HELL YES! the Anwar looks like the surface of the moon, i doubt if more than a hand full people visit that god forsaken place a year. Drilling can be done in an environmentally sound way. During Hurricane Katrina did you read about 1 oil rig leaking NO. It is time to say to the enviromental extremist go to hell! It's ironic that the same idiots that say "no war for oil" do not want to drill domestically. More drilling, more nuke plants, more coal plants, more of every thing! We can be energy Independent!

Re: FORUM POLL: Give us your opinion on domestic oil drilling
I voted YES
I did hear someone on FOX news yesterday who said there is only enough oil in ANWR for 6 months. But, articles I have read said 60-70 years. Then this dingbat says the oil won't stay here, it will go on the world market.
Why is that? Can anyone explain it to me?
I have always said we need a comprehensive energy plan that includes, Wind, solar, coal, oil, nuclear, hydroelectric, hydrogen, and electric.
Along with all of the above we need to build refineries and nuclear plants.
By taxing "windfall" profits the tax would be passed right along to us anyway and we'd be no better off even with middle class tax breaks.
I also question what are they going to do with the cars people own already. I certainly am not going out and buying an energy efficient cracker box that is probably unsafe on the highways or that I can't put my whole family in.
As far as the greenies are concerned,if China and India don't start taking some responsibility neither should we. They need to do their share.
Yes, drill here and drill now and keep the oil for our use and tell the ME potentates to go to Hades.

Re: FORUM POLL: Give us your opinion on domestic oil drilling
YES! Now if we can get congress off the backs of the oil companies and strike the laws off the books that prevent drilling we'll be off and running!
Never, never, kill the goose that lays the golden egg! Let wisdom prevail so we can keep our country mobile and strong!

Democrats in Congress and a few RINOS refuse to allow drilling off the Continental shelf, YET, China, India, Cuba, Spain, and Canada all drill there.
Is something wrong with this picture????

Re: FORUM POLL: Give us your opinion on domestic oil drilling
On FOX News last night, Newt Gingrich said there is more oil under the Rocky Mountains than Saudi Arabia has--much more. But we are forbidden to drill for it because of legislation.
The Democrats love to blame the President for gas prices, but they have steadfastly refused to do anything to make us energy independent. For many years, they have stymied exploration, domestic drilling, building of refineries and development of nuclear power.
They have pushed for ethanol, which has been a disaster--it's no less polluting and because it uses corn for energy diverting its use away from food, food, it is causing famine around the world.
One of the promises that the Democrats made last election cycle was that they would do something about the price of gas. The voters turned the Congress over to them. At the point they took power (January of 2007), the average price of a gallon of gasoline was $1.84. The Dems have been in control for nearly 18 months. Have you noticed the price of gas now? They're doing a swell job aren't they?

Re: FORUM POLL: Give us your opinion on domestic oil drilling
I voted YES ! Also signed Newt's
Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less. petition, which now has 470,775 people who have signed the petition. It should have 2-3-4 times that many supporting it by now!! Where are all the American people.???? Out being 'dumb-shxt-minded' over 'dumb-shxt-minded' barry the unqualified, inexperienced, do-nothing but talk-ease, 'not-the-person-I-knew' associations he hangs out with -- the un-American, hate America crowd he chooses over real Americans, and the rest of his feeble-minded warts of the demo party I suppose ?
Yep, I'm mad ! Guess you could tell, huh? The dim's are like a butch of old, old rabbits ---- they simply can not
produce anything ! Except a lot of whining, hot air, and unpleasant gas .... which is improper, rude, crude and un-gentlemenly in mixxed company !!!!! We have heard a lot about the Clinton-nites; well, IMHO, we have too many carter-nites also ---- in short and to the point, those that can not, will not accomplish anything worthwhile, and live solely to screw America up.
If you haven't signed this petition yet, please do it today at http://www.americansolution s.com/a...b-346a1e096659 . This should be the next thing you do today. If not, you are conveying to me you are not America's friend, nor mine. Spread the word immediately ---that's the second thing you should do today. Yes, try to get at least ten others to do so today and tomorrow, and them likewise. That's how to get something done, and change America for the better. Amen.
Hey, I'm not trying to sound like one preaching to the chior.. just trying to offer a little hope, encouragement and inspiration .... like so many of you do for me each and every day. God bless one and all, GLYASDI,
ole Bill
NOTE: this just appeared on the above mentioned website; hopefully, it will increase the response dramatically; we need millions signing this petition as quickly as possible:

Re: FORUM POLL: Give us your opinion on domestic oil drilling
This is a no-brainer, this should have been done years ago.
I heard of FoxNews last night, there is so much oil in ANWR that oil is bubbling up out of the ground. The dumb Dems on the show claims there is less them 6 months of oil in ANWR

Sound like we need to get some legislation changed. Why continue to buy from countries that may be supporting terrorists, when we have oil right here at home.
