Default Huckabee says he would like to be McCain's No. 2

By AP STAFF
Associated Press
May 19, 2008

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said Sunday he'd like to be John McCain's running mate.

''There's no one I would rather be on a ticket with than John McCain,'' said Huckabee, who was a stronger than expected challenger against McCain for the Republican presidential nomination. ''All during the campaign when I was his rival, not a running mate, there was no one who was more complimentary of him publicly and privately. ... I still wanted to win, but if I couldn't, John McCain was always the guy I would have supported and have now supported.

''But whether or not I do the best for him, that's something that only he can decide,'' Huckabee said on NBC's ''Meet the Press.''

That's for sure.

This guy is just as disdainful of conservatives as McCain. Lousy choice. McCain needs a true conservative, if only to prove he hasn't completely abandoned the GOP and taken it for granted.

As if we needed to be reminded! Huckabee as the GOP VP pick would be the kiss of death to McCain's chances at winning the Presidency.

Just when I get my finger out of my throat and throwing up from having to vote for McCain another dumb, disgusting possibility comes up. Huckabee as VP will put me back to throwing up and I will surely be too sick to vote in November. I also see Fred Thompson (who I was supporting for President) having opinions again. Thompson as lack-luster as he turned out to be is just that, an opinion that doesn't matter. I hope they both shut up and stay out of the way, neither of them have any business speaking out about anything, that is why they were sent home in the first place.
