To The Democrats, You're Just A Groupie
By Michael Reagan
May 15, 2008
The big difference between Republicans and liberal Democrats is the way each party views people. Republicans see us as individuals and respect our God-given human dignity. To liberal Democrats, we're not individuals; we're members of a herd with all the dignity of a cow or pig dependent on its owner for daily rations of hay or slop.
Democrats see us as being white or as blacks or as straights or as gays, or as lesbians or as heterosexuals, or as rich or poor, or as Christians or as Jews or as Muslims, or as young or as old, as working or as retired, or as housewives or as career women.
They submerge us into pools that define us as members of groups instead of as what we are as God sees us, -- as any father sees his children -- each being different from one another, and each child being a separate and distinct individual with his or her own specific talents and abilities, and all deserving of his love.

Re: To The Democrats, You're Just A Groupie
This is one of Michael Reagan's best articles. I only wish the Democrats would read it, as he has them described to a T.
As much as they suffer from Bush Derangement Syndrome, they fail to realize that Bush's low popularity is due mostly to his failure to act like a responsible conservative in his desire to please the liberals. I fear that John McCain suffers this same weakness.
We really need a leader who can stand firmly on conservative ground like Ronald Reagan did.

Unfortunately, Slinkie, Most of them would get no further than the author's name and then launch into a rabid discussion of his lack of credibility and credentials (as they see it). They would then dispute what he wrote by dissecting what they "thought" he wrote. What I'm finding amazing today though is how the two camps of the Democratic Party, the Hillaryites and the Obamamanians are doing the same to each other on the political threads that I'm a part of.

You are so right THelsel....the name of Reagan would put them into a tailspin....and the funny (pathetic) thing is is that he is offering good advice....just as Karl Rove (another name that sends the dems into orbit) has warned them about offending Hillary supporters....but to no avail....pitiful group they are....just understand I am not a Hillary supporter....just that I enjoyed Roves article about the damage they (the dems) were doing to themselves.

Re: To The Democrats, You're Just A Groupie
Groupie is such an approprate term. Look at the entertainers and sports figures who beg for a crowd in the beginning, then hire bodyguards to keep them away once they've made it.
In fact, the Dems not only disregard the individual, they disdain him, particularly if he's in 'flyover' country.
Nothing was more revealing than Hussein's elitist remarks when addressing what was supposed to be a closed door meeting of the Dem ruling class in San Francisco.

Re: To The Democrats, You're Just A Groupie
Excellent article.
Since the MSM is liberal, they are trying to put the Republicans into these groups, and then anoint someone as our leader. See all the "spokesmen" for evangelicals, RINOs, etc.
Fortunately, we will never submit to group think! In the GOP, there are as many opinions as there are members. I believe that's what keeps us a vibrant party.

Re: To The Democrats, You're Just A Groupie
That groupie word came out of the past. I remember when all those nuts were called groupies, and made love instead of war. But, if the democrats think all the people in their party are groupies, they have another thought coming. I know a lot of moderate and conservative democrats, and they would spit in Dean's face if he called them one. However, they do like to keep their sheep in the fold, and that way they can tell them when to go to the bath room or whever..When they lose this upcoming election, Dean will be gone, and Rahm Emanual will probably take over
