The drug wars ARE being waged in the United States. The city of Laredo is so unsafe, people are staying in at night, and they are warning Americans to stay out of Nuevo Laredo because the kidnappings and killings are so bad. This is the direct result of open borders between Texas and Mexico.

Steelman has the 100% correct idea to combat drugs and crime but it is too difficult to get past police ego. It seems the government want the law abiding citizens to stay inside, doors bolted, blinds pulled. There is a program now I believe in Arizona where the law is outnumbered, to get citizen involvement by volunteers with the permission to defend themselves with lethal weapons. People ARE getting fed up with government bureaucracy, stupidity and petty knit picking.

I applaud Mexico for finally trying to do something about this problem that has been festering for many, many years.

This reminds me too much of the gay/lesbian stories that aren't being told to the American public for political reasons too.

The politicians want votes and the majority of the media is liberal so both hide the seamy side to gain support for their positions.

Shame on them for not doing what's right for America and shame on voters for voting in the same, sorry, entrenced politiciams no matter how bad they are.

Voters need to wake up or the drug cartels could take over our towns and cities too with our open borders. Think it's not possible? Look at how gangs have taken over areas and have more powerful weapons than the police have now.

Talking Re: Drug Civil War Rages in Mexico

The Drug Civil War which is raging in Mexico has most certainly crossed our "open" borders.

Anyone who believes otherwise is not using
their GOD given "common sense".

GOD HELP US!!

This sounds good, but is it for real? The Mexican government is utterly corrupt and I'd guess it is largely in the pockets of the drug lords. One also wonders how pervasive are officials on the take on this side of the border. I did and still do believe that Compean and Ramos are in prison for that very reason.

This topic excites me. Living close to the border and having friends and relatives by marriage in border towns and living in Mexico, my conclusions is the citizens must be armed so as to take care of their families and prevent anyone with a gun to steal at random. The police will not help unless they see a crime being committed. Law abiding people will go to the store and when they return, all their furniture will be gone. The old Mexico of relaxation and romance is no more.

Violence in Mexico spills across US border

By EILEEN SULLIVAN
Associated Press
May 14, 2008

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Three Mexican police chiefs have requested political asylum in the U.S. as violence escalates in the Mexican drug wars and spills across the U.S. border, a top Homeland Security official told The Associated Press.

In the past few months, the police officials have shown up at the U.S. border, fearing for their lives, according to Jayson Ahern, the deputy commissioner of Customs and Border Protection.

''They're basically abandoned by their police officers or police departments in many cases,'' Ahern told AP.

Ahern said the Mexican officials -- whom he didn't name -- are being interviewed and their cases are under review for possible asylum.

AP finally noticed.

The Mexican government will have to embrace mass killings of entire compounds, ranches and estates of people to stop this. Like a real war, because it IS.

Hard core air bombardment is probably the only answer that will work. They KNOW where these people live and work, it's no mystery. They are simply too well armed to take on directly, they are also too well warned by corrupt officials to be taken un-aware.

But a co-ordinated air attack could remove the bulk of these people and their private armies in one night. The Mexicans simpley have to find the will and strength to take their country back, no matter the harsh methods required.

Also the Mexicans in charge have to find the will to demonize their own sons, for they are the problem. The non-enheriting sons are the ones providing social cover and insider information for the cartels, access to high governmental officials.

There is only one way to fight the large sums of money the cartels have, kill them all swiftly, in secret, much like the king of France did to the Templars.

If the mexicans cant do it, it may fall on the USA to do it. There is already a case to be made that the Mexicans have completely lost control of their northern states & the USA must step in for our own security. The one worlders want the USA to be dissolve into Mexico & Canada, you'd think they would approve of us taking parts of Mexico permenantly.

With oil at $126.00 a barrel why in god's name does Bush want to give the Mexicans $500mm to fight drugs, they can afford to do that them selves. It's time to put the national guard on the US / Mexican border until we build the fence, no make that wall that no one can get through. Then we can let the Mexicans live in the squaler that they allow their leaders to let them live in.
