Default Put The Blame Where It Belongs

By Michael Reagan
May 2, 2008

In case you haven't noticed, gas prices are soaring, hiking the cost of food and just about everything else. If you believe Hillary Clinton, the blame for all this lies on the shoulders of those greedy oil companies and their bloated profit margins, a notion that like just about every other snake-oil remedy she tries to peddle is simply not the case.

We're in the mess in which we find ourselves because of a small handful of people with the money and the power to inflict grievous harm on their fellow humans, whom they just happen to despise.

It's about time for you and your fellow Americans to know just who they are and what they are doing to all of us in the name of saving the planet that for millions of years has shown to be perfectly capable of saving itself without their help.

Okay, I'm guilty. I'm an American. I like big cars with solid bodies, and lots of food in the supermarket that won't go bad overnight because it's chemically treated and/or wrapped in petroleum products. I also like enjoying the highest standard of living in the world and, until 17 years ago, one of the lowest tax burdens.

Reagan should go one step further and identify those who are funding these three demented sociopaths. George Soros, the Ford Foundation, and, yes, our Federal government are the first that come to mind.

Write your congressman and ask him to stop giving those cats money. We have to drill our way out of this oil shortage, but it will take time. The sooner we start, the sooner those wells will come on line.

Angry Re: Put The Blame Where It Belongs

I'm amazed and a little discouraged that this forum was not loaded with comments after Mike Reagan's article.

It is true that this country marches to the beat of those 3 individuals, (and probably a few more). Limbaugh has tried to convey this message for years with his excellent and comical "tree-hugger" rants.

But the time for laughing is over. We have been hijacked and are being held for ransom and we haven't even realized it yet.

I've never been comfortable just picking up the phone, dialing someone I do not know and then commence to chewing their butts out. But I am learning to not be so apprehensive.

I'm calling ... How about you?

Jack, I think it's because Reagan didn't really explain what these individuals have done.

The names are strange to most people and they need details.

I was surprised at how poorly the column was written. Not up to Reagan's usual standards.
