Default Obama's Minister's Remarks Won't Fade

By CHARLES BABINGTON
Associated Press
March 21, 2008

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Even if Hillary Rodham Clinton and her aides do not mention Barack Obama's fiery-tongued spiritual mentor, don't expect the Illinois senator's well-publicized speech Tuesday to make the controversy disappear, political strategists said this week.

Reporters, talk-show hosts and others will keep asking about Obama's close and long-standing relationship to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, whose most bombastic comments came to dominate the Democratic presidential contest recently, the strategists predicted in interviews. In video clips playing on Internet sites, Wright can be heard arguing that HIV-AIDS was a U.S. government plot to wipe out ''people of color,'' and that God should ''damn'' the United States for its racist policies.

Not, it's not going to fade.

And neither is Hussein's remark about his grandmother being a "typical white person".

This guy has no business being leader of the free world.

He's not even qualified to be a Senator. He's a lousy one at that.

Talking Re: Obama's Minister's Remarks Won't Fade

You can bet that the people of this country is not only tired of the race issues that are not here any longer but Obama will be held liable for all of Wrights preaching on hating America as far as the race thing goes the black man needs to spend some time in a white persons shoes who has just as hard a time getting out and eking out a living day to day, we all face the same mountain here.
Yes it will be brought up , because the news media of today would still be running this if it were a republican and they would be yelling for his her removal from the race. So we the people will run our own campaign and it will be against Obama . how can we accept this garbage that Matthews called a great speech it was scripted and tele-promted, it was not from the heart it was from Mr. Axlerod, who has written every speech he has made thus far. so maybe Axlerod should run ?

As a "Typical White Guy", (thanks for the racial stereotype, Obama), I'm growing weary of McCain's attempt, (as futile as it will become), to keep the campaign civil.

Just who the hell does McCain think he's running against? The Pope? No! He's running against one of the most underhanded organizations ever to stand for election in the Clinton Machine. Now it appears the other liberal campaign could rival the Clinton's in dishonest, illegal and disgusting tactics.

Someone needs to nudge the senior senator from Arizona and remind him that this is his last attempt to win what he's obviously coveted for years. McCain has to understand that he's not only running against Obama & Hillary, but 90% of the mainstream media! Does he expect this same "fairness and civility"? If he does, then we've definitely got the wrong guy riding the white horse. (No pun intended)

Republicans have literally been handed a gift from above in the revealing of just how race baiting, hate-filled rhetoric has been and continues to be used to distort right and wrong.

McCain needs to man-up.

I am a "typical white guy" so one can suppose that my comments are biased. Nevertheless, if I were to support, by my presence, money, and praiseworthy private comment, the rantings of a racist, I think that I would justifiably be called a racist myself.

I can't agree with you, JackReacher, that McCain should "man up". I, personally, and I would say the majority of conservative Americans, are turned OFF by negative campaigns that revert to mud slinging. In 2004, it began with Kerry's personal attacks against Pres. Bush. In return, the Bush camp shot Kerry right out of the water with true facts about his unpatriotic past. A nasty campaign for sure, but a necessary thing to defend the falsehoods spread about the President and bring the truth to light about Kerry.
In this case, McCain doesn't need to do a thing because Obama has just, figuratively, shot himself in the foot!!!!!! Nothing in this mess is hearsay, it's FACTUAL and PROVEN to be the truth!!!
We can only hope that true Americans wake up and realize that Obama can no longer hide behind his "I have a plan to unite Americans" theme. He has been exposed for the closet racist that he really is and given us a view of what might just be his "hidden agenda" for America!!!!
I say, once again, SHAME on him AND his "mentor" for stirring the pot of racism!!! The Bible teaches forgiveness. Rev. Wright must have missed ALL those verses or maybe he reads a different Bible written for his own purposes. He's still living in the past. For that, I can NOT forgive either of them!!!! God forgive ME!!!

It need to NOT go away~ not only is it racist, it is socialist...
I have been reading about this Liberation Theology, and it is not theology at all - it is a socialist political movement designed to move into churches to convince people that God wants us to take care of each other thru the government, not thru our own good works and/or charity. In the Black Liberation Theology, it says that God has to be with the black race and against the evil whites (Google James Cone, one of the ones that started it and has written extensively on it).

If that is the sort of thing that Wright "guided" Obama to believe, he is NOT the post-racial candidate he portrays himself to be....and I don't want him as the President, either!

Meanwhile, clinton gets a free ride. We can't forget how powerful that so-called clinton machine is. They are devious and underhanded in just about everything they do. Let's not forget the forest through the trees, here folks. What we do not need is another round of clintonism for another four years. 8 was clearly enough for THIS Republican.

Why should Wrights remarks fade!!! These remarks should continue to remind America that racist come in all colors and that Obama is not the man for our country. I am an African American woman and I am very sick and tired of African Americans who cannot seem to get over the race issue. Racism will be here until the end of this present age!

I reflect back to the day I lobbyed on Capitol Hill with conservative women of all races on the Unborn Child Pain Protection Act; we paid a visit to Obama's office and let me tell you I knew this day would come. I was never impressed by this man, the liberals are pushing him because they are desperate to win the White House and they don't care if Obama was the devil himself just as long as they can get their liberal agenda taken care of.

Obama is ultra liberal, Obama has racist views and Obama will do much harm to America. If you white people never feared anyone in your life you better take this man and the issue of his liberation theology seriously. I watched many people faint at the sight of this man! Many people captivated by the sound of his voice, many liken him to a messiah.

There was another one in history such as Hitler who had the same power over people, “demonic power”. Obama has been taught and schooled by a cult leader and given the powers from hell to persuade and eventually to destroy. There will be another one in history that will actually win many and that will be the Anti-Christ, if you do not know the story read the Book of Revelation in the Holy Bible. AMERICA WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE, STOP LOOKING FOR THE EASY WAY OUT AND GET BACK TO THE TRUE FAITH!

What all of us, conservatives both white and black, need to do is vote. Vote and urge everyone one you know who is of legal age and a citizen to vote.
If the democrats continue to eat each other alive, we have an opportunity to keep the white house and in the next cycle to regain the house and senate.
My opinion is that which ever of the democrats win the nomination there will be a significant number of the electorate that will be unable to vote for the nominee chosen.
