The Emperor Has No Clothes
By Michael Reagan
March 7, 2008
It's inevitable that a lot of people are taking credit for the outcome of the Texas and Ohio primaries. In reality, the outcome was more or less the result of "Saturday Night Live."
Think about it. They were the ones who sicced the media on Barack Obama by spoofing them for treating him with soft kid gloves.
The skit was so effective that Mrs. Clinton was able to use it during the debate the following week, where she suggested that perhaps Obama needed a pillow.
The effect of Hillary's sarcasm and the earlier SNL skit was to spur the media to take a closer look at Obama, whom they had all but elevated to sainthood over the past year.

Re: The Emperor Has No Clothes
As our great American Willie Cunningham said , the news media will strip the bark off of Barrack Hussien Obama and it has happened now, I can't wait till the next frog leaps out of the pond . the news media has been a cabal and is still that somewhat, they conspire in secret . but now they have been handed the guantlet and have no choice but to pick it up and go with it . Mr. Obama your days are numbered you are no saint and you are no second coming, you will not even provide your poor Grandmother a TV so she can watch her grandson get plastered on the news . I have a feeling his vote count is going to go down and soon , like in the next primary . go barrack back to where you came from .

This is a good development. I was getting worried about the "sainthood" conferred on Obama by the press and his adoring followers. Picking our next president is serious business. We need to be clear-eye and pragmatic about it.

The empty suit is exposed, once you take a look inside. Makes Michelle proud!

Re: The Emperor Has No Clothes
I watched the show, or at least the first half hour or so when these political satires were run. They made fun of Hillary, Obama, and Russert, pretty much equally, I thought.
Amy Poehler's bit, which was later run at the end of one of Brit Hume's weekly news shows, skillfully made fun of Hillary's grating, irritating, screeching personality. The audience ate it up.
Frankly, I have my doubts about how many actual voters in Ohio and Texas stayed up past midnight to watch Saturday Night Live.

With a huge contingent of Obama fanatics being in the age group 18 to 25, I would suspect that group was either watching live or reviewing the next morning on their hand-helds.
Whether or not that is the case, I have no clue. All I know is something seems to have happened that has turned the momentum towards the shrew.

Re: The Emperor Has No Clothes
The three remaining Presidential candidates, Obama, Clinton and McCain are like America's chances of getting a "clean" uncorrupted President this time around - Slim Chance, Fat Chance and No Chance!! They all have "baggage" they'd prefer will not surface during the General Election. The ONLY real difference that I see between them is their positions on our military being in the Middle East. Regardless of what they say/promise I'd be willing to bet that our next President will not suddenly withdraw troops from Iraq!!
If experience with military service makes one more qualified to be our President, as McCain would have us believe, then we should have found ourselves a person with a better track record than McCain!! This guy simply does not give me ANY reason to support him in his ambition to be President!! Since we're headed for a shipwreck (which is unavoidable thanks to this Bush Administration) I'd rather see a Democrat at the ships helm anyway!! McCain could be the final nail in the coffin where the Republican Party is concerned.

Re: The Emperor Has No Clothes
Whatever the reason for the "turn around" of momentum in the Democratic Party, who cares as long as it has left Obama with some proverbial "egg on his face". I would rather think it was his wife's thoughtless and disgusting remarks about being proud of her country for the first time in her adult life. We all know how much influence she would have in the White House. She's just another Hillary of a different color.
I voted for Obama for Senator in Illinois because I felt he was better than what MY party was offering. I hope all you "I'll vote for Hillary or Obama before I'd vote for McCain" can see where that lead. There is a LOT more to this Rezko business than Obama wants us to know about. No matter what my disagreement may be about SOME of what McCain stands for, especially illegal immigration, he HAS the most experience. He's the ONLY candidate who will keep our county safe and strong instead of running with our tails between our legs.
If I had to pick one of the three names out of hat, I would hope it would be his!!!!

Re: The Emperor Has No Clothes
I like The Emperor has No Clothes. This does not only reflect Obama, it reflects all the candidates. I thought I was the only person who realized this. Wonderful to have these blogs. If people would only dig deeper they would see that none of these candidates should be elected President. My concern is who can we elect now. Is there anyone out there in American who can come forward to be Commander in Chief before it is to late?. My eyes are wide open.

Re: The Emperor Has No Clothes
Ok Fine. Obama is no saint. From all I've read, it sounds like many of you are happy to see Ma Clinton run for the office.
What makes her elegible.. so qualified to be the President? She is nothing. Mere words and body language, just like her empty shirt so-called husband.
But, I believe we're stuck with both of them, one or the other will be the dimwit candidate and there isn't a darned thing we can do about it except continue to expose these liars, phonys, and cheats for what they are.
