'Don't Worry, Be Happy'
By Oliver North
February 29, 2008
WASHINGTON -- In 1988, singer and songwriter Bobby McFerrin penned a Grammy-winning tune, "Don't Worry, Be Happy." When it comes to collecting intelligence on America's enemies, McFerrin's pleasant a cappella song is now the theme song for Democrats in the House of Representatives.
On Feb. 14, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi decided to send the members of the House home on vacation instead of having them vote on extending the Protect America Act, a measure that already had passed in the U.S. Senate 68-29. The bill, among other things, provides civil immunity for private companies that assist U.S. intelligence agencies in intercepting terrorist communications to, from or through the United States. With the House adjourned, the PAA expired -- and Americans became instantly more vulnerable.

Why not? Its a known fact that there are no bad people in the world - it is our actions that cause people to do bad things. If you don't agree with that talk to a good Liberal. On the plus side, with them on vacation at least they won't be doing any stupid things.

Re: 'Don't Worry, Be Happy'
I am 66 yars old, still a working electrician, grandpa, and a vet.
I am also very Patriotic and concerned about our wonderful country. I can well understand differing opinions. That leads to a healthy Government through debates. What I will always have trouble with, and detest is a complete lack of moral responsibility in our government. If we are attacked because Peloski and the idiots left, they will be the very first to critize our President. Not them selves for leaving the door open. People like them are entitled to differing opinions, but should not be allowed a place in government to open doors to our enemies. We all have seen way to much of that with the technology thing with China. Peloski and people like her border treason. They should be taken to task. They are corrupt, they do not have Americans at heart, and If thats a " Not Politically Correct Statement, to bad" This country needs to be protected, National Security should always win no matter what party.

Re: 'Don't Worry, Be Happy'
Oliver North has the fantastic ability to look at facts and make comments on situations as they exist and the consequences that will result if ignored. Unfortunately there are just not enough people in this country that have the ability to look ahead and act accordingly. They simply live "for the moment" (indulging in drugs, alcohol, crime/violence, sports, anti- American films, and peverted sex) with no regard to the future.
North wrote a chilling novel - "The Assassins" that I think is probably a prediction of what's really going on in the political world these days, even though it's labeled as fiction. I encourgae those with the nerve to read this book.
Amen!!

VERY WELL SAID !!!! And we MUST ACT to save America.
And face up to the fact .... that not all of our enemies are outside the U.S.A. IMHO, too many have been elected to high offices in our country..... by the me, me, me, me'ers..... who do not, would not lift a finger to defend and protect America.
YOU ARE EITHER WITH US OR AGAINST US !!!! If against us then YOU ARE OUR ENEMY !!!!

Re: 'Don't Worry, Be Happy'
The Col. has said what needs to be said and I would like to say, Let us give the terrorist leadership even more reason to honor more of their dead martyrs and as the leadership dwindles the threats have less meaning to anyone.
Oh, about the press, they gave up Prince Harry's whereabouts after swearing they would not say a word. Dealing with the press is like shaking hands with a communist. Never, ever trust a commie or follow their advise.

Re: 'Don't Worry, Be Happy'
Can't you just feel the pride and arrogance coming from the Democrats and their lacky's? Pelosi and her demons are going to have a lot of explaining to do if we are attacked during this PAA dispute, and she will be the one to blame if it does happen. This is "politics as usual" when there's real work to be done, the House decides to take a vacation. Did I miss something, or where does the Congress get to take vacations in the middle of crisis?

Re: 'Don't Worry, Be Happy'
Pelosi et al are taking a calculated risk and have their fingers crossed. If failure to renew FISA results only in more casualties to our troops overseas, they can blame Bush and the GOP. If it results in another attack on our shores, they're in deep doo-doo.
Regardless, with the willing MSM, they'll somehow try to deflect blame to Bush and the GOP in general.
They're beyond contempt, these Dems, and the last time I had a debate with one of them, I answered, "Yes, I do question your patriotism."
