Michelle Obama's America -- And Mine
By Michelle Malkin
February 20, 2008
Like Michelle Obama, I am a "woman of color." Like Michelle Obama, I am a working mother of two young children. Like Michelle Obama, I am a member of the 13th generation of Americans born since the founding of our great nation.
Unlike Michelle Obama, I can't keep track of the number of times I've been proud -- really proud -- of my country since I was born and privileged to live in it.
At a speech in Milwaukee this week on behalf of her husband's Democratic presidential campaign, Mrs. Obama remarked, "For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country, and not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change."

Re: Michelle Obama's America -- And Mine
Good for Michelle Malkin. I don't think it could have been said any better. THis country may have its faults, like any other, but there is a lot that we can all be proud of. My father was among the thousands who sacrificed and who helped liberate Europe and helped prevent the destruction of the free world in WWII. He fought in three wars (both declared and not) to ensure liberty. I am affronted by the idea that there are some who feel that is an insignificant contribution and that they are the only ones who ever did or tried to do anything positive for this country.
Though I may not agree with the fact that a lot of times we act the role of 'world police', where would a lot of those "other countries" be if we did not try to help them, both financially as well as militarily? We are always the best under duress, and we as Americans are there to try to help those in need in many different situations.
Shame on Mrs. Obama... she needs to go back to school and learn of the true history of this country. She and her husband did not can the phrase "Change"... they are just using it to try to get to the heart of the PEOPLE and to get what the Obamas want

Re: Michelle Obama's America -- And Mine
I believe we have seen the first true indication that Obama’s are indeed racists. Mizzzzzzz Obama made her vitriol, and hate America remark twice, and has yet to redirect it’s meaning. My conclusion is that she did mean what is inferred by the Webster’s definition of the words in the sentence. Since Senator Obama hasn’t made any contradictory statements I also conclude he agrees with his wife’s attitude, and as such a USA hater too; Fine quality presidential material A.

Re: Michelle Obama's America -- And Mine
Michelle Obama's problem is she was supposedly educated in the ivy league schools, or that is what is being told. She is about as ignorant as her husband is. He gets that mic in his hand, and there is no telling what is going out of his mouth. Words plagerized from a friend, or just an outright lie, that he has a knack of making people believe. I heard this morning he has 20,000 people in houston last night. I ,for the like of me cannot see how any one stays awake, when he is talking, because he is so dull and boring. I see where white women are swooning and fainting, like he was the reincarnated Elvis Presley. Have all these women doing this have a college education? I suspect that is the case, because most of the colleges are teaching socialist programs to our students, and they are hearing familiar words from him, because that is what he is talking about. A Solcialist America, and if that is what the people want,be prepared to be like the chinese or Russians, who live under socialist rule. Take from thr rich and give to the poor.!! This idea makes me sick, and Michelle has let it slip that that is what is coming.

Wonderful statements, Michelle, about our beloved country and the opportunities it offers all who reside here. Let us momentarily keep our powder dry and after the Obamas have vanquished the wicked witch of the west, go after these snot nosed elitist leftists with all the vigor that can be mustered.

Re: Michelle Obama's America -- And Mine
Perhaps Ms. Obama takes her perspective of this country from totalitarian leaders of countries like Venezuela, Iran, and North Korea, or from Europeans living under the protective umbrella of the U.S.. That certainly would foster the belief that this country is unworthy of pride among its citizens.
I must have missed her apparently derrogatory comments about student loans, so I don't know if the loan amounts were too low or the fact that they required payback. Shelter yourself, clothe yourself more than adequately, feed yourself, take full advantage of educational opportunities, and labor in the most robust and diversified economy in the world. Good for you. That's what it is all there for. Now, look around and take measure. In what do you have reason to be proud, if not this country?
Thank you, Ms. Malkin, I'm proud of this country for having fostered you.

Re: Michelle Obama's America -- And Mine
I listened to most of Michelle Obama's speech last night on the radio and it opened my eyes as to where these people are coming from. I hope every one of us listens carefully. It frightened me !

Re: Michelle Obama's America -- And Mine
I spent this morning reading the responses to Mrs.Obamas statement on a blog on Newsbusters, and it has been quite amusing to say the least as to their rightious indignation at her words....It is too bad that the younger Americans can't see through her and her ilk...I can only imagine how Condie Rice, Collin Powell, Judge Thomas and all the other great great black Americans have taken offense to this nitwits loose lips...

Re: Michelle Obama's America -- And Mine
"First let me say !hello! to you Michelle, love your
work. Miss you on Bill O'reilly.
Michelle Obama said it right, and no "spin doctor"
is going to change the outcome of what she said.
She mean't every word of it. (twice) Democrats in general hate America. Even the enemies of our Country Iran, Russia, Syria, China, and Saudi Arabia know that.
It doesn't matter, the Democrats will still vote for Obama in November. Laced with a "change" format and a wishful thinking mentality, the Democrats are blindly obedient to the word "change." Republicans have a real fight on our hands. This will be the most important election since, at least 1860. (Abraham Lincoln elected)
What we do November 4th may effect the stability
of the World. "God help us all."

Re: Michelle Obama's America -- And Mine
I'm with Michelle Malkin 100% - that we live in a country of which we can be very proud!
The real question, though, isn't the beauty of the United States, but the ugliness of our federal government. We have a government that doesn't have the interests of the people at heart, but acts only on behalf of self-seeking politicians and their well-heeled backers.
Those self-seeking politicians, unfortunately, are as prevalent in my Republican Party as they are in Obama's Democratic Party. I hope you'll focus on that problem someday soon, so we can comment on it.
In the meantime, thanks for showing us the racism of the Obamas!
