Rally for Romney - Conservatives need to act now, before it is too late.
Rally for Romney - Conservatives need to act now, before it is too late. - By Mark R. Levin, National Review
I have spent nearly four decades in the conservative movement — from precinct worker to the Reagan White House. I campaigned for Reagan in 1976 and 1980. I served in several top positions during the Reagan administration, including chief of staff to Attorney General Edwin Meese. I have been an active conservative when conservatism was not in high favor.
I remember in 1976, as a 19-year-old in Pennsylvania working the polls for Reagan against the sitting Republican president, Gerald Ford, I was demeaned for supporting a candidate who was said to be an extremist B-actor who couldn’t win a general election, and opposing a sitting president. And at the time Reagan wasn’t even on the ballot in Pennsylvania because he decided to focus his limited resources on other states. I tried to convince voter after voter to write-in Reagan’s name on the ballot. In the end, Reagan received about five percent of the Republican vote as a write-in candidate

*I agree that we need to vigorously support Romney, but even more importantly, a lot of misguided people need to look a John McCain for what he is; not as how he portrays himself.

Quote:
Last night McCain, who is the putative frontrunner, resorted to a barrage of personal assaults on Romney that reflect more on the man making them than the target of the attacks. McCain now has a habit of describing Romney as a “manager for profit” and someone who has “laid-off” people, implying that Romney is both unpatriotic and uncaring. Moreover, he complains that Romney is using his “millions” or “fortune” to underwrite his campaign. This is a crass appeal to class warfare. McCain is extremely wealthy through marriage. Romney has never denigrated McCain for his wealth or the manner in which he acquired it. Evidently Romney’s character doesn’t let him to cross certain boundaries of decorum and decency, but McCain’s does. And what of managing for profit? When did free enterprise become evil? This is liberal pablum which, once again, could have been uttered by Hillary Clinton.

Emphasis mine.
I think I'll email this article in its entirety to friends in other Super Tuesday states and hope they get the message.

I think that if McCain is the nominee we should all vote for Hillary. After all that will be the end of the good Republican Party. And Hillary hasn't betrayed the ideals of the Republican party or the American people like McCain has. I think in that contest it would be better even to vote for Hillary than McCain. Either way we will be living in a third world , lawless hellhole within a couple of years. I think what the American People want most is to get a president who wants to be president of AMERICA.
McCain would just be another 4 years tacked on to the sixteen year Clinton/Bush administration. I think if someone in forensic accounting could find something wrong with McCain's financing of his campaign after sponsoring campaign finance. Last years he could barely afford to run now he's flush. Probably the usual suspects: The Rockefeller Foundation, The Ford Foundation, and other haters of the country they exploit.

I agree. Now is the time we must to all we can to support Romney. If not we will have a liberal president, even if he has an R after his name.

I'm pulling for Romney too. Let's not give up yet. McCain is picking up a lot of endorsements, though.
The very last thing we want is for Hillary or Obama to win the White House. We must not let that happen. That, above all, would be the worst outcome. Be patient and let's see how many hard pills we my have to swallow. None are close to being another Reagan.

Even Reagan wasn't Reagan until he received the mantle of the Presidency. I think we would be pleasantly surprised with a President Romney.

Re: Rally for Romney - Conservatives need to act now, before it is too late.
If I had any doubts about McCain, the last Republican debate settled the issue for me. All three of the other candidates, even Ron Paul, were more articulate, more reasoned, and made more sense than McCain. I give him full credit for his war service, but he still comes across as embittered, arrogant, sarcastic, and self-righteous.
I prefer Romney out of the lot, but if McCain wins the nomination, I'm not sure I can bring myself to cast a vote. I suspect one reason for the McCain surge is that many conservatives feel Romney can't defeat Hillary, and McCain is the lesser evil. It still amazes me that so many people seem to feel that Hillary and Obama have any meaningful experience or credentials that qualify them for the presidency. We survived Carter, but I shudder to think of the consequences of either another Clinton or Obama in the oval office.
Does anyone think we have a republican form of government anymore or that the Constitution still lives here?

The worst thought possible folks was the question asked of Obama and Clinton last night....a Clinton/Obama or a Obama/Clinton ticket if one of the other happened to win the White house...Now that my friends is scarier ten fold then even McCain the liar holding that seat....My good grief, Mitt Romney had better get the vote or we are all doomed to a life of pure hell....

Re: Rally for Romney - Conservatives need to act now, before it is too late.
Iam pulling for Romney all the way and if we don't get behind him large numbers the party will go the way the Wigs did and i think the republican party will have to be reconstituted under a new party platform.
While some many want to deny the possibility i thin it is realistic to think that this could very much happen.
Though i think the republican should take the reigns of the party and say no McCain you will not receive the nomination and say that we beleive that he will ultimately destroy the party and we will nominate the best choice of the party and the survival of the party.
