Default Immigration Issue Reveals Arrogance Of The 'Ruling Class'

Christopher G. Adamo
December 6, 2007

Intermixed with Hillary Clinton's many disparate stances on illegal immigration are the occasional, very revealing statements that say far more about her character in general than about her transient and flexible beliefs. In one recent statement, she expressed her surprise at the vehemence of real America in its opposition to the massive invasion of illegals.

According to Hillary, such fiery opposition was nonexistent only seven or eight years ago which, incidentally was when she and her husband occupied the White House. So what brought about this change? Without missing a beat, she postulated that the reason is, of course, the worsening economy under President Bush, which has made Americans, when looking for jobs, feel competitive pressure from those who breached the border.

You can bet I sure will not vote for McCain, Giuliani, Romney or Huckabee because of their stance on illegals and sanctuary cities. I will vote for the candidate that strictly opposes illegals and wants them out.

Unfortunately, McCain, Clinton, and all the others who have such disdain for the American public are closer to the mark than many of us will admit.

After all, the voting public keeps putting them in office, so how wrong can they be?

Boortz had an audio clip on his show recently of a contestant on a "quiz show," who, it was apparent, was convinced the host was kidding her when he said the answer to a question was "Hungary." (She had said earlier she would have answered "France," but wasn't sure that was a country.) As for Hungary, "Never heard of it," she stated matter-of-factly.

Yeah, she gets to help decide who determines foreign policy for the US.

Would anyone really want to know how she and people like her feel about illegal aliens? She'd probably say she doesn't belive in UFOs, so it isn't an issue with her.

Quote:
McCain offered a telling explanation of why Americans refused to trust their government that says far more about his contempt for average Americans than it does about his political exploits. In his world, people did not trust the government as a result of its handling of Hurricane Katrina, corruption in Congress, and unfettered federal spending. The list was astounding by its one notable exception.

The single item absent from the list was, amazingly, the government's abysmal handling of the border.

Well, at least he didn't call us "xenophobic racists".... he probably didn't think fast enough, or he would have. Or was that implied in the Katrina statement?

And if America wants anything different from its leaders, it had better say so during the upcoming election cycle in no uncertain terms.

And vote for HUNTER!! (Linked to his CONSISTENT stand on the border.)

And, as always, I agree that the ONLY viable candidate running from ANY party is Duncan Hunter.

But odds are he won't get the nomination -- can't afford to buy it.

When did this become a Ron Paul thread?

These posts will be moved to Rants.

It's too bad when one of our regular members mentions Ron Paul and we have a thread hijacked because of it.

Oh well, here we go to Rants.

"she expressed her surprise at the vehemence of real America in its opposition to the massive invasion of illegals."

Oh, please! Coming from a Stalinist, her remark does not surprise me. After all, once those illegals get their valid drivers licenses then they can register to vote and get free healthcare and free college tuition. Paid for by the LEGAL citizens. And what the hell is "real America"? As opposed to "unreal America" in D.C.?? She is such an elitist gasbag. I wonder if she realizes that she includes Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo in "real America".

I was a little disappointed that the arrogance that President Bush has shown on this issue was missed. He lost my support when said I was to dumb to understand the issue. Free the Border Guards!!!!!!!

Bush's arrogance hasn't been missed by anyone, especially Conservatives. We just have to aim our intentions/demands/concerns to those who want to replace him in 2009.

He should have pardoned those Border Patrol agents as soon as they were convicted.

Thumbs up Re: Immigration Issue Reveals Arrogance Of The 'Ruling Class'

a slight detour from the thread, perhaps, but may i express my surprise and pleasure that the web page of the gop would publish an article which clearly does not follow a party line which holds that all repubs are good and all dems are bad? more on topic: i respect sen. mccain for having the guts and the honesty to speak his mind even though what he says may not be politically advantageous - i mean, he is apt to espouse unpopular views. because i view him as an honest man, i would like to know his views, specifically, on how he reconciles his ill-conceived campaign finance reform travesty with our constitution. i would ask the same in connection with the amnesty bill which he supports - what is his basis for claiming that the recent proposed (and defeated) bill does NOT include amnesty.
