Default Tough Road Ahead for Huckabee

By LIZ SIDOTI
Associated Press
December 4, 2007

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Mike Huckabee, who has surged from the back of the Republican presidential pack to challenge longtime leader Mitt Romney in Iowa, is campaigning with a spring in his step and an ear-to-ear grin.

His optimistic air, however, belies a thicket of hurdles in Iowa and beyond.

''There's a definite momentum, and what we've got to do is keep it going and capture it,'' the former Arkansas governor said Monday in the state that holds the first GOP nomination contest.

Polls find a dead heat here with Romney, the former Massachusetts governor.

Default Re: Tough Road Ahead for Huckabee

I can't believe how shallow SOME people are. It's really frightening to know that because he calls himself an evangelical Christian, he's the man for evangelical Christian's to vote for. They completely overlook his tax record in Arkanasas, his socialist philosophy on illegal immigration, and that he finds it VERY hard to take a strong stand on important issues. OK, so he's pro-life -- but that includes anti-death penalty. What kind of a conservative lets a killer/raper loose with a nicey-nice letter only to let him kill and rape again (as I heard on Laura Ingraham yesterday). That's not compassionate conservativism, that's blatant ignorance and poor governing. Maybe he'd feel sorry for the terrorists too.
