I voted no.
"Reducing the troops now" is like bringing troops home until the tipping point achieved by the surge has been reversed.
Who, possibly, would ever vote for that?

Re: FORUM POLL: Given reports that the troop surge is working, do you think troops levels in Iraq should be reduced?
I voted no as well. If the surge is doing what it was intended to do, why reduce the troops and give the enemy the opportunity to rebound?
Now is the time to keep the heat on the enemy and clean out more hot spots. It also gives the Iraqi's time to build their military's strength and command. You can have a strong fighting force, but if you don't have leaders, it won't be able to defeat the enemy.

I voted .
If we pullout our troops right now, terrorists will come here to attack us. We need to keep the enemies at bay. Plus, we would perform a disservice to our men and women, who have been wounded or killed, if we pullout now. We need to stay until the job is finish.

I voted NO and we should increase troop presence..
You don't let success stagnate or retreat from it, you build on it and increase success

Re: FORUM POLL: Given reports that the troop surge is working, do you think troops levels in Iraq should be reduced?
I voted no, we have to finish the job. It is going to be years before we can think of a reduction. I heard my neighbor say he thinks it will be within 3 years and we will start to draw down. I hope he is right but I think its 90 - 10 that he is wrong. Regardless if it takes 100 years, the job must be finished. I just hope that the Iraq military can begin to step up although they seem to be scared.

Re: FORUM POLL: Given reports that the troop surge is working, do you think troops levels in Iraq should be reduced?
It could very well REQUIRE a hundred years, MyOwnThinker...
We're squared off against history's worst hardheads to date, and there are more of them than all the true believers in Fascism, Nazism, AND Communism COMBINED.
It's only a matter of time before every able-bodied American is going to have to get down in the trenches and start breaking Islamist heads... and do not doubt that we'll have to break a LOT of them.
Not that the Islamist leadership will care. Their attitude is pretty much the same as if they were breeding clones to do their fighting for them:"Kill all you want... we'll just make more."
