Default Obama Says Some Have 'Hijacked' Faith

By STEPHEN SINGER
Associated Press
June 25, 2007

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Sen. Barack Obama told a church convention Saturday that some right-wing evangelical leaders have exploited and politicized religious beliefs in an effort to sow division.

''Somehow, somewhere along the way, faith stopped being used to bring us together and faith started being used to drive us apart,'' the Democratic presidential candidate said in a 30-minute speech before the national meeting of the United Church of Christ.

''Faith got hijacked, partly because of the so-called leaders of the Christian Right, all too eager to exploit what divides us,'' the Illinois senator said.

Said Senator Obama while attempting to politicize and exploit religious beliefs for the purpose of sowing division. Nice try dork. Not!

Said while hijacking faith himself?

I thought Hillary owned faith?.

What a smooth talking word smithing emotion-yanking charming Wahhabbi Sunni trained orator. What's the best way to slam on conservatives? Slam them using the same techniques that one accuses the conservatives are using, while providing zero substantive facts and reasonings, misleading or shallow statements, or make those reasonings circular.

In this case, it's about Christianity.

This kind of verbal delivery is most effective on rebellious children, old baby boomers who never outgrew their rebelliousness, and people who otherwise have no clue for the facts, but chose to feel pressured to make decisions that a moment's thought would lead them to find the whole Obama approach reminiscent of Hitler's demagoguery. Heil Obama, IslamoFascist terrorist front person.

Let's take some of Obama's delivery apart, as it had been presented by the Associated Press (a "news" wire no friend of conservatism by the way).

Quote:
Obama said. ''I don't know what Bible they're reading, but it doesn't jibe with my version.''
Notice Obama's version is NOT given. It could be the Qu'ran for all that matters. The Qu'ran is Islam's "Bible." But Obama deliberately either does not say, or his Associated Press useful idiot reporter chose to leave the version out.

Quote:
Obama is a member of the United Church of Christ, a church of about 1.2 million members that is considered one the most liberal of the mainline Protestant groups.
A liberal Christian is a flat contradiction in terms. One is either striving for being Christ-like under the direction of the Holy Spirit, or using Christ for self-serving humanistic goals.

Quote:
''At every opportunity, they've told evangelical Christians that Democrats disrespect their values and dislike their church, while suggesting to the rest of the country that religious Americans care only about issues like abortion and gay marriage, school prayer and intelligent design,'' according to an advance copy of his speech.
And this is generally true. Democrats do disrespect Biblical values, and do dislike churches who promote these kinds of values. That's a proven fact, over and over again, based on the liberal Democratic world view. Witness the liberal/socialist/communist ACLU, PFAW (People fo the unAmerican Way), Separation of Church and State (which is NOT in the Constitution nor in the First Amendment), etc. "While suggesting"?? One can make anyone else "suggest" anything. Done in court all the time to play to the jury. Nothing "Gay" about homosexual marriage, particulary when the filthy dirty unclean disease laden sexual practices nets them some of the most horrendous diseases ever to flower in their communities--Jesse Dirkhising child torture drug homosexual murder only reported in the conservative internet press and on conservative talk shows.

Quote:
''Somehow, somewhere along the way, faith stopped being used to bring us together and faith started being used to drive us apart,'' the Democratic presidential candidate said in a 30-minute speech before the national meeting of the United Church of Christ.
Notice how smooth-talking this guy is? If you are a striving to sanctify towards Christlikeness type of Christian, you might have found out that there is no such noun as "faith" in a relationship with Christ through the Holy Spirit. It is "faith" in whom. Faith does not stand alone, any more than "chance" leading to evolution can mean anything. And another Biblical fact is that Jesus told us bluntly that he didn't come to unite, but to divide. Could His own do any differently when we have lying Wahhabbi Sunni phonies like Obama who is hoping that casual Sunday-only Christians who don't meditate on their Bible won't have a clue? Something about "don't associate with such a 'brother' " comes to mind (sarcasm, but applicable here to Obama).

Quote:
''Faith got hijacked, partly because of the so-called leaders of the Christian Right, all too eager to exploit what divides us,'' the Illinois senator said.
Like, who, Senator? Got any names that you wish to accuse, or is this another one of your unspecified accusations to go along with your unspecified threats, designed for just emotional appeal for your shallow-thinking (if any thinking at all), emotionally-driven, rebellious supporters?

We conservatives and santifying Christians need to realize that when it comes to matters of religious import (or, rather, the Christian's relationship with Christ), the liberals are going to try to obfuscate this area as much as the drive by media are trying to confuse this by serving us conservatives mind poison in all other arenas of political import. It makes Christianity and Christians, as it always was historically in America, a veritable political fact, and a huge Satanic target.

Obama said, ''Faith got hijacked, partly because of the so-called leaders of the Christian Right, all too eager to exploit what divides us." Apparently Mr. Obama doesn't want to apply Christian scripture to his views. He needs to read 2 Timothy 2:15 which instructs Christians to "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who doesn't need to be ashamed, CORRECTLY teaching the word of truth." Obama and his liberal friends only want to teach their versions of faith.

TAI, you're so right!!

As Ken Ham put it in is book, "The Lie: Evolution" and all that fall-out from this, Mr. Obama's version is not from God, but from man, humanists, secularists, who want to excise God (until it's too late for them).

Of course the Bible of Boraxo Blama is different than that of the Christian right, his is the "Bible" of J$ss$ J$cks$n and Al Sharptongue and any similarity between it and the Bible of God is purely accidental.

Thumbs down Re: Obama Says Some Have 'Hijacked' Faith

Babama is now a Biblical authority, not bad for a man that comes from a Chicago cult that openly promotes racism. Not to worry, this pathetic excuse for a Presidental candidate will soon go away and not bother us with his racist remarks. Some time today he will explain that he was misquoted, a common practice for demoncrats who put their foot in their mouths, we used to call it lying.

DON'T BET ON IT!!! if he doesn't make it into office he will play the race card and will try again later. if he does make it the rhetoric you are hearing today will be around for a good while.

yupp, typical wahabbi training coming out and I wonder if cair is coaching him????

(''Faith got hijacked, partly because of the so-called leaders of the Christian Right, all too eager to exploit what divides us)

kinda hard to hijack faith since each and everyone of us has our own brand and strength of it. by brand--I mean the denominations and bible teachings and of course how many "bibles" we have for our denomination and how loose the interpretation of it.

of course there are factions who will interpret more loosely than the other.

I am afraid that the faction in his church is entirely too loose for my taste so has to be really liberal minded just like him!

I never knew that the purpose of Christianity was to unite us. Didn't Jesus say something about leaving our families and dividing brother against brother? If anyone has hijacked Christianity, it is liberals with their stances on abortion, homosexuality, social 'justice', etc.

Barack Obama scares me, plain and simple.
